I have to admit, I'm more then a little disappointed in BigGuns. I don't know why- I thought for a moment that he was better then this. I'd have half a mind to send him a text along the lines of:

Another wasted day waiting for you, the stuff downstairs is really getting in the way, I'm tempted to throw half of it. I've got everything sorted everything for when you come to move it all, and cleaned up. But yet again you haven't came. Are you around on ____, because we'll sort then, otherwise you'll need to give me an address to send it to, or I'll get rid of it. I've inspected and taken photos of your room since you left, and can see you've damaged and stained it. We'll need to sort that out in addition to rent owing.

I think it's just right.

I wouldn't send that for a number of reasons. "Haven't came" is one of them. Another is that B_L is not entitled to dispose of the ex-lodger's possessions. Yet.

It's a bit of a bodge job I'll admit, and it's rough in patches (could be altered), but I figured it had the right tone, especially compared to this

Insomnia led me to your thread Badger Lady:o...I've spent the last few nights reading the trials and tribulations of your foray into having lodgers!

At times I've admired your faith in people...hats off to you:)..... but I've also wanted to shake some sense into you whilst certain lodgers were taking the pi$h:(

I wish you well with whatever/whoever/and wherever you decide on next.... Life really is too short and you never know what's round the corner (as I know all too well:() so get out there and enjoy...

I have composed a number of emails and text messages in my head in response to his illiterate and querulous epistles and not one of them has fewer than ten swear-words in each. He's bloody lucky that I'm not his ex-landlady, he'd have fled the country by now.

Why, thank you Basil/Vassilio/Basilicum! I do my best. The sad part is that I do it mainly to amuse myself rather than other people. If they enjoy it, all the better.

I expect there will be more chuckles along the way. I'm sure B_L hasn't finished with us yet. Or BigGuns, I hope

I turned out to be in all day until 7pm anyway, just tidying up and Freecycling. But there were no emails, no phonecalls and no sloppy youths on my doorstep.

Let's see how he deals with the "you made me fail my exam!" issue.

I know you'd never do this but:

You could ring his tutor at uni and say you're worried about him. Say he's left your property but not got all his notes and could you drop them off at uni for him.
AND TAKE THE LOT and dump it in his tutor's room.
