    I would take him.

I think a break up man is a better prospect than a young single chap. Break up lodger is less likely to have money to p!ss up a wall so wouldn't be partying all the time. He'd be keeping his digs in better nick if his kids were likely to visit him. He's been a family man so knows the score with neighbours etc.

If he did reconcile with his wife then you'd lose a lodger quicker than you would have preferred but there's no guarantee anyone would stay a certain amount of time so to me, that's not a concern.

Oi! Actually he's English, I think it's the missus who's Welsh.

OK, I've reviewed his documents and sent them over for him to look at... I tried calling his first reference but got no reply so I'll try again tomorrow.

    OMG.

I'm a little worried about your mind. It sounds a disturbing sort of place.

I'm gonna take him (subject to reference checks). Even if he only stays a month at least I'll be left with a nicely decorated room

Woohoo, deepandmeaningful lodger, the saga continues....

The only downside I see to him is that between him and Joannalodger there isn't going to be much drama and scandal. This thread will quieten down again :(

Badger_Lady, do any of the lodgers know about this thread?

Maybe they are all MSE lurkers getting information from watching this post, and have spied a chance of getting in quickly to meet the legend in person.

If you're just trying to stir up conjecture you will most likely succeed.

My own feeling is that people often don't make decisions about finding somewhere new to live until after the Christmas and New Year holidays are over and done with. Like right now, in fact.

Two possible new lodgers? That's good news.
