Just caught up after New Yr and just when you think it can't get any better.....

I'm a bit worried your travel blog will have a lot to live up to
  • Just read far more of this then I originally intended. And while It has left me bemused I must say (as a tenant) where you do find these freaks?

BL, this may be a silly question but why haven't you actually phoned him and asked pointedly for a pick up time? All this text business is just bloody stupid if you ask me, far too much room for issues to breed.

A quick phonecall to clarify time and to point out (again) that his agreement ended on the 3rd and that you now have no space to store his belongings (due to new lodger) so if he can't pick them up himself, he will need to arrange someone else to do so for him.

As entertaining as this whole thread is, I can only imagine it's a bit tedious for you in RL.

Well there's no word as yet... and his deadline is over.

He's being far too casual about all this.

Text him and tell him that since he didn't pick his stuff up, it's now all in the garden awaiting him.

When he texts you back, ignore him.

I bet he'll be there within the hour.

  • Have you phoned him yet B_L? Time is running out and I reckon you're anxious to be back to The Smoke. Never mind getting shot of his carp so the lovely JoannaLodger won't have to deal with him this week.

I expect the other poster is correct: he hasn't got a bean until payday at the end of this month, so hasn't been able to make any proper arrangements for his onward move.

btw: I enjoyed your daft friends visiting us last night. Huge lollers. Registering and posting as Tufters was inspired
  • I can confirm that Tufters was not either a badger, lovely, burly or called Joanna. The kudos lie elsewhere...
    I have no lodgers

I wish I knew who it was! Definitely no one in my house...

I haven't phoned BigGunsLodger - I can't be dealing with him today, he knows he's missed his opportunity. I feel like my whole weekend has been dedicated to him and I'd love a chance to relax without being alert for the doorbell.

I don't really feel ready for London yet - there's still too much to finish here. It's pretty frustrating having to put it all on hold for five days :(

Anyway, we get to meet PotentialLodger1 in a couple of hours!

  • Well, this thread has no end of admirers so it could be any one of them or someone else entirely. I don't care who it was, really. It was very amusing. The mention of the beret appeared to be someone with local knowledge which made it so persuasive. Tidy!

What time are you leaving home and how is your prospective new lodger going to get in when there's dozens of bin-bags littering the place?

I admire you immensely for donning your Marigolds and tacking that vomit-encrusted carpet. Needs must, I acknowledge but by gum that was brave.
