Big Badger House (aka Noisy Lodger) HE'S GONE!

The newly seperated are too much drama for a long term let and an absentee landlady. They're back together! No they aren't! can I move my new g/f in! No, I'm going back to my wife! You're not bringing my kids to stay overnight in one room!! (from ex)
Plus chefs are notorious for harder drug habits due to the hours they work.
aren;t there any nice older ladies looking for a room?Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

Emmzi's comment has much merit as does Poppysarah's. What are we going to do for cheap entertainment once B_L haa gone off on her travels? The getting of lives must be a priority.0

I agree with Emmzi on this - I would not risk this person, given your circumstances.0 -

Patently Antonio Carluccio aka "Fat Lucy" hasn't indulged in a rather long time. Perhaps he only sees the inside of a kitchen when he's on the telly?
It would go a long way to explaining other, younger and more rackety famous chef's behaviour. I have several in mind. Did I ever mention that I used to work for a quite famous chef? Not one who appeared to need chemical enhancement to run his kitchen. Lovely man.0 -
I wonder when BigGuns will arrive- after all, B_L said she'd be back around 4...If it rains, it rains.
We'll be in the street, looking thunder in the face,
Singing la la la la la,
I wont change0 -

My best ever lodger was newly seperated from his wife and he was fantastic. He stayed a couple of years, was quiet, respectful and was a fantastic housemate and became a good friend while he was here.
As long as lodgers are clear that moving new partners in is not acceptable I found a newly seperated person to be fab.
The only exception to this would be someone with a psycho ex :eek:If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

Well, NiceSoFarLodger was a divorcee with a young son who sometimes came over at weekends. And he was one of the good guys, stayed a really long time.
BigGunsLodger hasn't replied yet - if he's too late, I'll be busy making my guests dinner and won't be available to supervise his moving any more. Same tomorrow - I'm driving to London late afternoon, so he won't be able to have his usual lie-in!
PotentialLodger1 has booked an appointment for tomorrow and JoannaLodger should be back from work just in time to grill him herself. So we'll see what we think...
By the way yes, I do have an inventory that was part of the Houseshare Agreement. It just details what's in the room (items of furniture, carpet and curtains) and a general comment regarding their condition. Well, everything was in really good condition at the start!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
A landlord can only part charge towards costs - they have to take into account the original condition and age of the article.
Also, if BL didn't have a signed inventory, then if he challenges the deduction in court, she doesn't have a leg to stand on as she can offer no proof about its original conditional and that he was responsible for ruining it.
B_L isnt a Landlord, she is a private homeowner with lodgers. Thats why lodger deposits need not be scheme protected... I would just take the money
But there was no deposit:mad:0 -
