i used to steward in the 1980's when michael eavis was raising funds for CND - and there were some spectacularly wicked folks forcing their way into the festival at that time - really wicked folks - and then there was the "convoy" of folks who toured the country free-loading off anyone whose land they could force themselves onto.

the fencing and security has made it safer for everyone

Hmmm. Not everyone. We had to put some uninvited campers out of the horse's field this morning. We are some miles away, bt they dsaid they were hitching gradually to the a303 and this was near to wher they were dumped byt the first car. Horse 2 was VERY put out. (Horse one thought tents looked cool). all you can do is smile and be grateful for strong chain and huge padlocks. But, you know, it could have been nasty, horse 2 has a lot of anger towards strangers.:o

    Lodger1: "Okey-dokey!"

    Lodger1: "I won't be there till 6."

Oh, I'm not going to anticipate anything... who knows if he'll actually show (he doesn't exactly have a history of it!)?

It's a laugh though, innit, eh?

So, six o'clock came and went... I was sat in the basment with Lodger2 and Lodger2's girlfriend...

Come 7:30, I sent a text, "You on your way, mate?", which was responded with, "yup".

At 8:30, he appeared with his brother and a van, and asked for some black bags to gather up his stuff in. HOWEVER, he said "the wardrobe won't fit in my little van, so I need to hire a long wheel base for that and the tumble dryer.

I contained myself, and refrained from mentioning that:
    a) The tumble dryer arrived in the "little van";
    b) The wardrobe is a flat-pack, and probably won't get down the stairs and out of the house without being taken apart.

He then said, "what do you want to do about the wireless router?" (which he fitted via his company when he moved in, for the use of all housemates). Now, I appreicate he probably was expecting to use it himself for longer, but he did say at the time that it would be free.

We came to an agreement whereby, if he leaves the wireless router in place, and pays for the van on Saturday which I will then use to collect my new Freecycle furniture, we'll be quits (even though he would owe £80 rent by then, and I've already written off £36 of his debt).

So, STILL no spare room at Badger's house!

Offer to "dismantle" the wardrobe with a hammer! I bet it will be taken in the small van then!

    He's really stretching it out.
Do you have a new address for him ..? To check for 'penthouse suite' potential?

Oh yes, I did ask him about that!

Apparently he's living in a house at the moment, just until he can move into the penthouse. But the place is so amazing that, when he does move in, his girlfriend's moving in with him!
