Electricans rewiring can be horribly messy.. she must be very brave! :)
  • I'm going to need an awful lot more detail if I'm to be enjoying this as vicariously as before.

What's KeenPotentialLodger like? Any interesting characteristics you can share with us?edit.gif

Well, she acted like she was at a job interview - I had to wonder whether she wasn't one of us lot!

But it made her difficult to read... she seemed very polite and keen, and full of promises about being quiet, clean and timely with her rent. But she did make me promise that we would go for a drink together before Christmas, so I'll tell you more then!

  • Did her reference from her previous landlord turn up anything remotely of interest? Come on woman, give! If you can't find anything gripping to tell us please feel free to make something up, things are a little serious and/or dull around here at the mo
  • Thanks for the updates Badger! I'm so glad you keep it going, it's a gripping saga. When you sell the film rights, who do you want to play you??!!

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

Hey - big pause again! Well, the pause has been filled with rewiring (now complete), arguments about replastering (now resolved) and full-on rows about payment (banks messing up).

So, with the house now back together again, and with new projector / surround sound system installed, the latest lodger has just moved in :)

I'm away with BF until Sunday... then QuackersLodger is meeting me to pay her final instalment of outstanding rent, and I'll have my first evening at home with.... well, what is the new lodger's name???

Interestingly, I got a text from SleepyLodger this week asking if he could move back in. When I told him the room was taken, he asked me to let him know the minute it became vacant again. Not really sure what to make of that...

Tufter's good, thank you! I had a text message from the neighbours last week, saying simply, "Tufter's over here with us." I was at home so I replied, "Goodo, send him out when he's ready to come home." and he turned up a few hours later.

He is cute in the snow - he seems genuinely excited by it and dashes out of the catflap, getting it all in his black fur. The cutest thing is that there's been a neat row of paw prints marked up and down the garden exactly where the garden path should be... except that the whole garden was buried under six inches of the white stuff. Creature of habit, eh! :)

  • Oh no, it's not the Catnapping neighbours at it again is it? Come up with a decent name for VeryProfessionalLodger yet?
