Your next rent date - you've put 20th July.
You mean 20th June0 -

If he doesn't get home by my bedtime (which at the rate I'm fading will be 10pm), it's going under his door...
Thoughts?
You're far too nice but well done for making the decision.
However £100 is a very cheap deposit!0 -
Eagle Eye Pastures!!! :rotfl:
Yes, £100 is low - at the time I advertised, I thought I had to be competitive. I now know differently , although there's a limited amount of damage he could realistically do to one unfurnished room...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
I think the whole "what you owe, what deposit I've got, what I want if you stay to XYZ dates" confused me a bit.0
-
Yes, as somebody said £100 is a LOW deposit.
Everybody expects to pay one month's rent as a deposit.0 -
Add something about calling it quits if no deductions are requiredLets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0

I just logged in to check you are ok.(I'm addicted to this saga).
I hope he takes the note ok, unless he's home now, in which case I gues you'll see him.0 -
And the deed is done! He strolled in and knocked on my door just as I was writing the letter.
To summarise:
Lodger1: gapgHey Badger, is everything OK?
Badger_Lady: Yeah, it's OK - come in and sit down. Have you had a better day today?
Lodger1: gapgNo, not really... I'm just so tired!
Badger_Lady: Well... I needed to talk to you because I don't think this is really working out.
Lodger1: gapg[blank look]
Badger_Lady: This whole arrangement is just not working out - is that a surprise to you? I didn't think it would be.
Lodger1: gapgNo, not really.
Badger_Lady: I just think you're such an independent guy, you know, you like to live by your own rules - you'd probably be better off in your own place, wouldn't you.
Lodger1: gapgYeah... is it anything I've done?
Badger_Lady: Well, nothing specific really - to be honest, I think I might have rushed into it having you both at once, and it's just been a bit weird for me.
Lodger1: gapgYeah, me too - I mean, I haven't shared for 6-7 years! You're probably right, I'll more than likely get one of those flats in [nearby City].
Badger_Lady: Yes, you mentioned those before, you think you'll go for it? Obviously, I'll do you a reference and everything...
Lodger1: gapgMmm, yeah that's cool - no problem.
Badger_Lady: So, clearly it's one month notice, you owe £136 and I've got your deposit... [boring financial stuff].
Lodger1: gapgI'll probably be out in a couple of weeks, call it quits then. Although, well, week Friday's a bit fine - I might need a bit longer.
Badger_Lady: Of course, you've got until 10th July anyway, so that's fine. Sorry to add to all your hassle at the moment.
Lodger1: gapgOK, cheers, see you later then.
Badger_Lady: Good night!
... and the first housemate left the room - the crowd was silent.
What say the crowd now..?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
