Tried it for a week now and it first it seemed to be clearing up my skin, but now I've got a few lumpy 'orrible spots.
GRRR.
Is it worth sticking at it?

I use it twice a day;)0 -
I use it once or twice a day, I find using anything else "cancels out" the benefits - it's more a long term strategy. I use a much higher proportion of castor oil to olive oil though - when I've mixed in too much olive oil I have ended up more greasy
If I stop the ocm and use something else, it takes a few days of the oil to get back to the right condition. As if the skin needs time to adjust it's oil production?
Also, the hotter the water, the better the clean. Or so I've found.
Maybe it's just different for everyone?"She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"
I'm a fool quite often0 -

Yeah, I'm using more than 30% castor oil too. I like it being thick, its less messy:D0 -
I use it twice a day;)
but everyone's skin is different so maybe that's all rubbish! i have 'combination' skin - i.e. spots in the middle and hugh dry patches on my cheeks - so i think that's why i can't use the mixture all over my face. i may make up a different batch in a different ratio of oils for the rest of my face, but as i mainly want to improve the pores around my nose so i'm not too fussed at the moment.:happyhear0 -
melancholly wrote: »"This deep cleansing method should be done regularly, but not too frequently.". Maybe longterm twice a day isn't the best plan - it certainly says you don't need to do it in the morning if you've cleaned properly the night before.....
The reason I do it twice a day is because if its so good for skin (& I do like it) & it takes a while to get used to it, then if I start using other products as well, then I'm worried I will be undermining it, like the post below.HelenYorkshire wrote: », I find using anything else "cancels out" the benefits - it's more a long term strategy. I'm thinking of using tissue to get the bulk of it off, before the muslin cloth in hot water, as it makes the sink filthy.0

And this is from the woman who took a hell of a lot of convincing)
Im going to up the castor oil me thinks and my nose has decided to spout a mini oil leak atm. Cheeks, chin, forehead have all settled on around 30% but the nose is still being stubborn0 -
been reading all the posts and i think i will try this ocm too.
i find the castor oil and clearing constipation/congestions at both ends - being related to clearing skin - as a healthly and regular bowels keeps skin healthy too.
a query - does this mean i could give up the weekly masks and facials - as soon as i start on the ocm,...??0
