Rose oil, Neroli or Ylang Ylang are all good oils for the skin

    Neroli is very moisturising
Ylang Ylang helps reduce oil production
    Rose evens out skin tone
  • Thank you Suki.

I'm gonna start using OCM (as soon as my Castor oil arrives!), but I'm a bit confused about the mixture.. my skin is very oily in some areas (chin, jaws, cheeks), but very dry on the forehead... (not the usual!!). Shall I use the recommended mixture for oily skin, or combination?

Can you tell me which proportion you use..? And also, how much oil do you use every night..?

Are you using a cleanser containing sulphate surfactants or other drying ingredients (eg. alcohol, salicyclic acid) at present? If so you may find this is causing the dryness AND the oiliness, and your true skin type is closer to normal. Generally with OCM it is best to start with a lower percentage of castor oil and increase if needed because too much can irritate.

Just wanted to post to say that it's not just Beenie having trouble getting Castor Oil. I've just spent half an hour on the phone calling every opharmacy within 10 miles of me and not one of them stocks Castor oil. And i'm in Cardiff, not exactly the sticks.

The last call i made, I asked the pharmacist why it was that I can't get hold of it and was told that it's been withdrawn from sale because pregnant ladies were using it to induce labour!!!

EDIT: Just found out that Holland & Barratt stock a 250ml bottle for £9.09, but my local Asian Foods shop stocks pure cold pressed phamaceutical grade for £3 a 250ml bottle - hope this helps Beenie!
You had me at your proper use of "you're".

Just got my castor oil today, and have one question... do you use it around the eyes too..? I'm thinking about removing mascara if I'm wearing it.. is it ok/safe?
