If anyone has problems obtaining castor oil, this eBay seller has it at not too high a price... unless you think £2.79 for 100ml is "too high"

I do like this and have stopped using moisturiser at night despite being in mid 40s. Just wipe off with LE muslin cloth and toner.

"Difficult to find" because, I believe, it was discontinued long ago.
You sound like me, Sensemaya: no sooner do you find a holy grail product and it's taken off the shelves

It was indeed discontinued. But I'm not a fan of discarding products just because the "powers that be" deem it's out of date. They would say that so we buy more products because we are frightened of getting a skin reaction.
Does the job for me and I'm sticking with my skin routine and it works, so happy bunny. My skin feels lovely and I've noticed no difference since discarding the moisturiser in the evenings. At least I'm taking my make up off at night now...:p:D...that's another myth.
I'm sure the stock (as it's oil based too) is still as good as the day it was manufactured.
Still have a eye shadow that must be 20+ years old and never had a reaction...well the only one is my eyes look sexy...and that will do me.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
A newspaper or magazine recently had some ancient (long past use-by and well used) makeup bits and pieces tested by a specialist lab - none of it was at all harmful.
Well done you for having sexy eyes, I'm jealous

I've found that whenever I do ocm (using jojoba oil and castor oil) my skin looks lovely the next day, but the day after i get a horrible rash on my face, mostly on the cheeks. It takes days to go down! I tried using just jojoba oil on its own and still got the reaction. ANy ideas anyone? Is it an allergy or just my skin getting rid of all the badness? It would be such a shame to have to stop using it, as it makes my skin so nice on the first day!!0

I adapted this for myself. I just use EVOO every night with a hot cloth to remove my make-up its the only thing that takes it all off properly and exfoliates all at once. Sometimes I add a little drop of EVOO to my moisturiser, I used to just leave my skin but with winter it is not enough for me. If anyone lives in NI or Eire, I bought a tub of vitamin e cream from a company called kelkin just in my local chemist for about three quid, just thought i would post that as i have been using it straight for a week in the evenings and it doesnt cause any reaction to my skin (my skin reacts to everything) so really pleased!0

I've been using OCM for quite a long time now. I use castor oil and sunflower oil (about 1:6) with a few drops of vanilla for fragrance and it has been fine. I gave up the steaming but used a muslin cloths though have defaulted to flannels now, just using hot water. I'm amazed at how easily make up, including mascara, comes off and what a good cleanser this makes. I still moisturise as usual but just use OCM at night time (using plain water in the shower in the morning). My skin looks good and very healthy usually.
I've just introduced my daughter (21) to it and she is very impressed too, not least as OCM is a fraction of the price of the expensive cleansers she's been using and removes her make up really well. Although she was a little wary at first, expecting it to be very greasy, she's been impressed at how smooth her skin feels.
My little bottle of castor oil is still going strong after a year - This is a very economical way to cleanse.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
