Applying a moisturizer containing jojoba oil will regulate the skin's oil production.
I don't doubt your findings, Suki, but it goes to show what a minefield "it" is

If I was using Benzoyl Peroxide on my face as an acne treatment, then yes I would think about using jojoba oil - to counteract the dryness caused by the Benzoyl Perozide ( that link you used shows they advocate jojoba after using Benzoyl Peroxide )
Jojoba is fantastic as a moisturiser but I still wouldnt use it as a cleansing oil - esp on oily combination skins. I would stick to either the castor oil mix with olive oil, or ylang Ylang or rose or geranium oils - or more suited for cleansing and claming0 -
Suki, thanksfor the help I read every post n the the thread and one said boils with castor oil will just try castor and grapeseed

I've been using just olive oil now for just over a week and so far am impressed with the results. I was dreading breaking out in loads of spots like some people say you do. Does anyone know if the little grain things that I sometimes feel when massaging in the oil is actually gunk coming out of my skin or is it just something that is already in the olive oil? I am hoping that it is gunk but I seem to feel the grains when massaging my forehead and sides of my cheeks where I don't really get spots???? I keep on massaging my nose where I get blackheads but haven't felt any grains there :-(
I've just ordered some castor oil on line so can't wait for that to arrive and try it out. I'm hoping that'll help shift the blackheads.0 -
Im wondering if the OCM would be okay to use on a 13 year old boy, he has blackheads, alot of them...mainly forehead, nose and chin, struggling to find a suitable treatment, I started using the dermalogica teen skincare range which didnt help, chemist recommended quinoderm which has helped clear up the spots he was getting on his forehead but the blackheads seem to be multiplying.. any advice would be great...im at my wits end now..0

Well seeing as it's only oil being used it's not going to " harm" him
Blackheads are dirty plugged pores so any good exfoliating cleansing routine will help but he has to be shown how to cleanse properly
You doing the ocm on him might work0 -
should i be using a weaker strength on him as he has young skin..
need to look back at posts and get the recipe / instructions..0 -
You need to look here

As I said in my last post - any exfoliating/deep cleansing routine is only as good as the person doing it. He needs to be shown how to keep his skin clean be it by using the OCM, or Liz Earle or Dermalogica or whatever0 -
Just read this whole thread (on and off over 2 days lol).
There are so many on here who have tried it, but I was wondering all these months/years on is anyone still sticking with it and how much their skin has improved?
Thanks.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Hi, yes, my skin has improved since using the OCM. I used to have very oily skin but it seems to be much more normal now. I use 10% castor oil with either extra virgin olive oil or jojoba oil. I am now also using rosehip seed oil as a moisturiser.
I cleanse each night using the oils (massaging it in until I get bored) and I remove it with cotton wool pads dampened in hot water. In the morning I use Boots organic rosewater on cotton wool pads and then pat on rosehip seed oil as a moisturiser, leaving it ten minutes or so before putting on mineral make-up.
I was never going to have alabaster perfect skin but this seems to work the best for me. Plus it's much cheaper than all my previous 'cleanse, tone and moisturise' efforts.
Actually, I've come to think that a lot of the beauty industry is a big con - you're paying more for the packaging and advertising than the actual product. I have also starting making my own body lotions using shea butter, coconut oil, essential oils etc. Plenty of recipes on the internet!
Good luck.0
