  • Let us know how it goes, Mrs E :)

What you're describing on your nose is just open pores collecting excess sebum, it's nothing to worry about and most people get it. When the sebum dries out, it forms a plug - that's what a blackhead is.

    Thank you:T

I don't have congestion as in acne or even blackheads

BUT I have visable pores (not really bad, but if you look close up they are open) & when you squeeze them, tiny little wiggly worms of "cream cheesy" seban (is that what its called?) comes out. They are thicker than thread, but not nearly as thick as wool.

But you could squeeze them al out tonight & next week the pores would have it again.

Was waiting for the right oil, sounds worth a try.

Bet you're gonna tell me you buy it next to the mazola:rotfl:

Thats what the beauticians call congestion :)

Told you the castor oil was a laxative, treat both ends and the only congestion you will ever be troubled with again will be that around the M25 :rotfl:

Any cloth will do. I prefer muslin as its really easy to rinse through. I get mine supersized from the nappy section at Boots

If you are going to use a face cloth, then don't put any fabric softner in them.
I think bit of rough action (:o ) helps with the exfoliation:D

After fruitless searching/asking at the big supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug, I finally got my bottle of castor oil for £1.33 from a local independant chemist. As I already had a small bottle of vitamin E oil, I did a 30/70 mix of the two and am using it each night to cleanse my make-up off.

My skin is looking better already and I'm waiting with interest to see if it improves my sparse and over-plucked eyebrows.

wow! I've just found this thread... never heard of this before! I think I'm going to try it!
My skin looks terrible as I gave up smoking a month ago.
terrible little spots and dry patches, oily patches... really uneven skin tone.

so, yes, am going to try this this evening!
I hope I don't come out in fresh spots though, I've got an interview tomorrow!

oil cleansing rocks...you *may* come out in spots in a few days but that's due to using a new product and it will go away :)

I love DHC's olive virgin oil although I know it's not v moneysaving! i think just a good quality virgin olive oil with nothing dodgy in it should be fine.

What age bracket are you doing the oil mix thing? What about the more mature - d'you reckon it would benefit those of us with little red thread veins and general skin uneveness?
