Its the castor oil that's causing the dryness, hence a bit of jiggling with the mix. You dont need to use it everyday - its like giving yourself a facial - a couple of times a week is enough, plus its time consuming.

I dont know why oils can cause dryness  I was paying a fair amount for Decleors Ylang Ylang oil to help with the oil slick that's my t zone. That worked to an extent as well but I no longer need that now Im using the oil cleanser - my t zone is a lot better

I've been using the OCM for a couple of weeks with good results. Still got some congestion on my cheeks so I have added Rosemary essential oil. I have not added as much as a website suggested, I cut it down by half. Will see how it goes.

I use Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil and keep it in my bathroom cabinet , so I don't feel like I'm putting 'chip fat' on my face lol, and because I use this as a body moisturiser too. I use about 50/50 with castor oil, and it works well for me.. I did try adding 10% rosehip oil at one stage, but that backfired on me, and I got a few spots as a result.

Plus, since I've been using the Bertolli, I think its doing a better job than the Tescos olive oil I was using.. or maybe thats just the label snob in me (hides in shame)

I use the OCM everynight and morning except when i do my microdermabrasion thing, and follow this with Bio-Oil or Camellia oil, and my skins been fantastic...OT but I also use coconut oil on my hair as a pre-wash instead of conditioner...oils all the way!

So what do you do the other 12 times then?

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, I've used it for years now, it's the only product that I've ever stayed with.

As you may have guessed, I'm very hessitant about using fry'crisp'n'dry on my face:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

How about mixing one of the Japanese/Asian cleansing oils to a caster oil solution?

    Anyone tried this.

I'm thinking one of the Japanese oils 70% to Castor oil 30%.

I ordered a bottle of castor oil at the village chemist today, they will have it Wednesday.

He said no one had asked for it in ages:o :rotfl:

If you're worried, why don't you go to a posh health food shop and buy a lovely organic first-press some-thing-or-other-oil that isn't one that you'd usually cook with? The other oil is only a carrier oil for the caster oil anyway, so it really doesn't matter what it is....

A Saturday girl of about 8  started serving me first, she asked what it was for (I think she wanted to work out from that where it was kept):o :o:o

I said "Oh, its an old fashioned cure-all, perhaps you should ask the pharmacist if you have it":D :D:D

I am very intrigued by this oil method thing but have totally failed to find castor oil anywhere - tried all the chemists, the supermarket - I bought a mixed olive oil and something else from Sainsburys in the end but I wonder where all the castor oil is? In the maternity unit???

Glad it's not just me having probs finding castor oil. There seems to be a total embargo on the stuff round where I live. Wonder what the problem is.
