What oil do you use for the "oil cleansing method"? (merged)

I tried the EVOO/Castor combo a few months ago, but I felt the EVOO was too heavy so I stopped doing OCM.
I've now ordered a small bottle each of jojoba oil and almond oil. I'll start again when they arrive.
I have a slighly OT question for those of you who are into more natural skincare and that is - what do you use to moisturise around your eyes? I'm in my late 40's and finding the skin there is quite dry which makes the fine lines (ok, wrinkles!) look more noticeable. I need something really nourishing to use under my eyes. Any suggestions? (Budget is very tight right now).0 -
The Eve Lom Cleanser has a really nice feel but I agree it is probably more about the hot muslin cloth and massage method. I swear by the (crazily priced) Rescue Mask though for keeping my skin clear (mid thirties with combination skin + cystic acne - which is delightful at my age).
I seem to have got stuck in a bit of an expensive rut of being convinced that this range is the only thing suits - whereas I am sure other hot cloth cleansers and of course the oil cleansing method could have similar results for me at a much more money saving price...
Early results after trying the OCM are really promising - using jojoba oil with a drop or two of castor oil mixed in for the t-zone - my skin is really soft and pores are the tiniest they have been in a long while ... cautiously optimistic
Isklar - that is a very good question - is there an OCM/natural style boost for the eye area?0 -
I oil cleanse right over my eyes. It removed the makeup, and that's where most of my makeup is! I use ordinary eye cream aferwards (Estee Laudee night repair) and occasionally some vit e oil above brow, over cheek bones and on temples.0

I've also heard that rose hip seed oil (rosa mosqueta) is supposed to be excellent for the eye area.
Unfortunately, I haven't tried it yet as I have several eye creams to use up before I buy some!0 -

I've heard rose hip oil is good but some reveiws state that it can clog the pores
I'm currently using the liiv eye cream by avon (when I remember) but its not to good.
I don't use a normal moisturiser either because I react to far to much, so I just use jojoba oil.

I think I must be in the 'getting worse before getting better' phase ... skin never been so soft but it's not very happy ... will stick with it though ...0

are you adjusting the amount ofcastor oil to adapt? I have even usde neat castor on grumpy areas..0 -
Actually I tried that this morning - I have great faith after reading this thread so I think I just need to experiment with the jojoba/castor combo and persevere a while longer. Skin has been horrendous on and off for years - I should know better than to expect miracle cures shouldn't I?!0
