Wow people are commenting on my skin already. :j

This is amazing! I wish I had discovered it earlier!

Now off too make my own body butter. Wish I could find a natural(cheap) shampoo!!
  • Going to start on this tonight :) I have oily skin but my biggest problem is acne scarring. I've done some research and the general view is that Vitamin E is brilliant for acne scars and I wanted to find a way of introducing it into my routine without applying it as a cream or similar, as I believe it's too rich and will kick off more breakouts. So I figured I'd use vitamin E as the carrier oil for the castor oil which I'll be doing tonight. I'll report back with my findings; wish me luck!

  • Yorkiepud - glad to hear the Boots Botanics baby oil sorted out your skin - its fab isn't it. It was on buy 1 get 2nd half price in Guildford today...except there was only 1 left ..and people had been using it as a 'tester'! Grrr..

Sometimes I use hot muslin cloth (ex Liz Earle), sometimes I just wipe it off with tissue depending on how mucky I feel. I also use a smidgen as a moisturiser before I go to work when its cold outside. It also acts as an aromatherapy treatment as your skin will absorb the plant extracts.

Talking of which, are you castor oil users becoming more erm regular? :rotfl: If you are massaging it and leaving it on your skin it will be absorbed into your body and have its effects (rather like nicotine patches - the nicotine is dermally absorbed). Just wondered :D

It was sold in 50ml ribbed brown glass bottles in the olden days. I can see my granny now wielding the dreaded spoonful if one of us kids had failed to 'go' when required to do so. CB2X

:rotfl: I had wondered that - but I doubt it. :rotfl:

No. no castor oil problems....badgerlady did report an issue with bathing in the stuff but from washing face in shower/sink and I've done it in the bath...all no problems.
  • I did it for the first time last night and I'm really pleased with the results. I used a 50/50 lot of castor oil and vitamin E oil, but it was too thick, so I'm going to try again soon with 45% castor oil, 45% vitamin E oil and 10% sunflower oil (which also have vitamin E in it) to see if that works better. So far, my skin is feeling really smooth today so I'm going to keep at it; at least for a month to see how it develops. I'm also really intrigued to see what effect is has on my eye area since I'm using it to remove eye make up too. Anyone noticed any difference around the eye area?

For me the single main difference is the ease with with make up comes off with. As a resut there is no rough treating of the eye area, your fingers slip over the oily skin rther than tug against it, and its all quick and light pressure.

Hmmm would it be ok to add Vit E oil to my jojoba/castor oil mix?

Got a couple of little spots today but I think thats mainly down to the implanon implant thingy in my arm  There not majorly bad, just ickle lol.

Started using just jojoba oil in the morning too cos I didn't feel 'clean' just using water in the morning. I know its probably physcological but hey!!

Was pleasently surprised when I answered the door yesterday and a guy asked to speak to my mum, was like eh its my house but must mean my new cleansing regime is working!!!

Also, I have 2 converts to OCM. Ones a 16 year old boy aswell!!

I visited a larger Boots on the way home and managed to get the Organics Baby Oil for the carrier oil and Virgin Castor Oil.

Is this the right stuff?

They said they didn't have just Castor Oil and this one said 'for the relief of constipation' on the bottom. I bought 2 small bottles at £1.14 each - she did give me a sympathetic look :o

i just picked up a couple of bottles from a large boots in central london. only it was £1.26 each....and no points for the card as counted as a "dispensary item". tried with just olive oil last night but going to add some castor tonight.

well my skin feels soft and the flaky dryness around my cheeks has gone. pores don't look any smaller though. and also a few spots (i expect it might take longer than two days to see results on spots though).
