  • Castor oil is a laxative. Sitting in a bath full of it, absorbing it, not a great idea...

I do think that that had to be sheer co incidence as last I heard skin was water proof. If you absorbed so quickly through the skin you would drown everytime you had a bath or got caught out in a downpour:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Tried this again last night, it is bringing up some spots on my chin and around my mouth, but I guess this is normal for the first few days. I'm coming down with a cold as well which might explain the spots. Rest of my skin feels lovely and smooth, and looks better too. Did some more squeezing too, couldn't help going ewwwwwww at the little white blobs that come out.

I offered to try on my boyf, he said no way! :confused:Too girlie maybe? Or the fact that he saw me pouring the sunflower seed oil that we normally use for cooking into the bottle? Ah well, his loss (mwahahahaha).

Hope you are all getting on well

  • I've been doing this for about a week now, about 60/40 EV Olive Oil and Castor oil with some vitamin e added for good measure.

Have been doing it perhaps 4 nights out of seven.

So far have a few small spots on my chin and temples that are probably a result of getting out impurities - like you sometimes get after a face mask. Overall skin is less shiny by the end of the day.

I am tending to use the oil to take my mascara off and then do the full OCM as it feels horrid if you are rubbing mascara flakes all over your face.

I use a normal flannel rather than muslin hope that is okay.

I haven't noticed much difference in my open pores yet though.

OK, this seems really unnecessary for a public forum but... there isn't just skin in the bathtub, there are orifices. Ever heard of suppositories? Very effective.

Hi, just thought I would update, I have been doing the OCM since last week every other night as suggested by Suki:) so far its great, my skin is definitely less greasy/oily although no change yet in pore size just a general improvement I have been using roughly 30/70 with evo, I missed my day to do it at the weekend:rolleyes:and woke this morning with an oil slick in my T zone and a spot under my chin, this sounds strange but as soon as I touched the spot it was gone:confused:and it didn't hurt at all, never had that before, I haven't used my freederm or any other moisturiser since I started and am amazed how good my skin is, oh and I much prefer using a good old facecloth to the muslin cloths, anyway back into routine tonight:)
Thank you for this site Martin
The time for change has come
    Good luck for the future

Still trying it out on my back and shoulders. I'm surprised that castor oil could penetrate enough to give you a dodgy belly. I'm thinking of the tight as a ducks bu** and that's watertight phrase! Not noticed a huge difference yet but my face seems ok. Can definately see that the spots are less scarred now and the purple has faded more. Still got some deep blackheads there but can't get the angle to have a good old squeeze (sorry TMI!).
I'm hoping that by the time Christmas comes around people will be saying what beautiful skin I have and how young I look (where there's life there's hope, right?!).
I shall continue to drop in and out and check out everyones progress. When I switch to castor oil I shall have to have a think about how to do my shoulders and back whilst standing up by the sink without creating a danger zone!

  • After being shown to this thread I thought I'd give it a go, bought all the stuff along with some almond oil, but I notice now that it should have been sweet almond oil, is there a difference?

  • Hey guys, I have read through this and other threads but hard to keep track! I have been using jojoba oil on its own and quite pleased with it (but still have that old shiny face problem half way through the day!). Can I use castor oil with the jojoba oil or do I really need sunflower oil or something else? Thanks if anyone can advise me, I'm keen to try this properly!
You can try, but you'll never catch me. Bazinga!
