Like I said I'm really rubbish at knowing what suits my face, and I'd prefer someone in the know to pick one for me, that's why I don't want to order from online, I'll end up looking like an oompa loompa
If you can, try and get to a salon that sells Bare Escentuals. House of Fraser charge something like £17 for 2g, and I pay my local salon £24 for 9g!!!!
Either that or QVC do some good start kits.0 -
Virgin gym's beauty bit sells bare escentuals (at least the one in Leeds does).Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Found the castor oil at Boots (obvious really) but I had to ask as it was behind the counter (she had to blow the dust off it
). £1.19 a bargain facial treatment. I tried the 10% castor and 90%evo oil, massaged it in and then steamed my face for 5 mins. Used toner to remove excess oil and moisturised and voila! Skin felt fab, like I had had a facial. The only thing is there isn't a nice smell you get from expensive products.
Can anyone recommend an essential oil to add? Sorry if this has been mentioned haven't read the whole thread.0 -

People have been using sweet almond oil as the base and you can get that in the chemist as well.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0 -
Well after [STRIKE]stalking[/STRIKE] reading this thread with interest for a while, I've done it! Well, I've gone to th chemist and ordered a bottle of castor oil to arrive tomorrow, and bought a little bottle to mix in, and a muslin and a new flannel to compare which I like best.
I'm excited to try it tomorrow night now! Thankyou so much for the idea everyone, I'll let you know how I get on xxChifundo Uzuri Siochain"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost" - JRR Tolkien~~ Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal ~

Go for it Carol22! It will leave your skin feeling and looking great. Just don't get the castor oil mixed up with Castrol GTX and you can't go far wrong.

Welcome at long last glowgirl :j:j
Your skin sound so similar to mine that I really do think you will see a great improvement pretty quickly
I would start with a 20/80 mix and use it every other night for a week to see how you go and then increase the castor oil if you havent become too dry.
Use a good blob and massage in all over your face using the whole of your hands and then really work the congested areas with the tip of your fingers. Dont go pummelling yourself - just a firm massage keeping your fingers quite oily so you glide. My "problem areas" are the tip of my nose and between my eyebrows - I seem to miss working those areas and it shows as I get a shine on my forehead and the tip of my nose long before anywhere else. The rest of my face has made such an improvement, no obvious pores showing on my cheeks or sides of nose and make up staying the day without sliding off
Im hoping you do get to see results quick enough to convince you to stick with it0
