If anyone is struggling to find castor oil, I've found a website that does 500ml containers for just £2.65! http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/productdescription.aspx?prodcode=0193&utm_source=base&utm_medium=comparison&utm_campaign=google_base :rotfl:
- "so, where you buy your toiletries from?"
- "the animal husbandry section on a farming website!"

My skin is awful, I might try this. I've discovered that steaming my face is quite nice so I could combine the two.0 -

I know I thought my post was very funny, I wonder how many thought it was a great deal until they saw the label - "for all stock"!
They also do pig oil, I wonder if you can use that as a substitution for castor oil! :rotfl:0 -
Well, I would like to give this a try as my skin is horrible - greasy most of the time, full of blackheads and sports just keep popping. You would think I am a teenager by description - I am 29!!!
As I want to try it before we go away for Christmas, and I have no idea if I manage to find the castor oil in the meantime (not willing to order on-line as we are leaving in a week), how do you use bio-oil? Do you still mix it with some other oil, or you just use it pure? I have knitted a few dish/face cloths, so I could put them to use as well!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I use it as it as, it's cheap enough. You could mix it with olive oil maybe, but I find it's light and I don't want to weigh it down by adding more oil.
By the way, it's Rescue Oil you want to get. You shouldn't pay more than £2, but try Pound Shops & Home Bargains first.0 -
Just found this thread and I'm going to give this method a try as at te grand old age of 36 I still have spots and blackheads.
Just wanted to ask, what do those of you who use this method use for moisturiser?0 -
I don't use a separate facial moisturiser because I no longer need it - if your skin feels a little dry, you can use a tiny amount of the oil and rub it into your skin (in fact there's usually a tiny bit left over after I've finished flannelling, so I just rub that in).
It's best done at night as well, because my skin then absorbs any excess and is fresh and lovely by morning.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
I've only just come across this thread and thought I'd put in my two penneth worth.
I have been cleansing my skin for years using a mixture of castor and sweet almond oil (I do vary the ratios using less castor oil in Summer) and typically do this twice a week. The rest of the week I use sweet almond oil as a cleanser, massaged into my skin and wiped off with a clean flannel. I don't need moisturiser and I am regularly mistaken for being 10-15 years younger than I am.
I also use either olive or sweet almond as a body moisturiser 3-4 times a week and add essential oils of my choice to make it smell nice in addition to the properties of the essential oil used.I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead

I use 2/3 grapeseed oil and 1/3 olive oil. I add a drop of lavender essential oil just to make it smell better. I'm alternating between using this and Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish. I prefer the C&P but in the interests of saving money, I'm quite liking the oil as an evening cleanser.
