i dont cut them as such, but make sure they are ready to eat by taking out the core of a small apple and stuffing it with sultanas - stops it going brown and allows you to eat the whole thing without faffing0

I make my youngest a salad of chopped apple ,cucumber and cherry toms and put it in a small tupperware box and it doesnt go brown ( only a tad but not enough to effect the taste )0

hi, thought this might be the best place to put this for good advice but if its not feel free to move!
basically what the title says! i chopped up some apple into slices last night to take to work today (prefer it chopped to whole) and put it in tupperware in the fridge. ive gone down this morning to get it and the apple pieces have browned
someone said they thought you had to put some sort of juice on it to stop them browning, but wasnt 100% sure?
any ideas of how to stop this so i dont have to waste fruit thats browned overnight!
thanks guys x0 -

I'm not sure, but I think if you put a little lemon juice on as soon as you slice them and make sure it covers all the cut areas, then it stops it going brown, but I've only read this, never tried it - sorry!0

Dip them in water that has a serious slug of lemon juice in it. Lime juice woud probably work as well. Hope that helps.Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH
