Thank you all, some great ideas there, we will try those tomorrow. Any ideas on how long the burgers take to cook in the not-GF grill?

I have a gf grill but never done burgers in it, but it would really depend on the thickness of the burger. I am guessing about 7 mins on high. Also depends if you like them rare etc.

    Hi all :)

I'll add this post to our main HM Burgers thread.

Don't forget to let us know how they turn out. Good luck :)

I made the beefburgers today, and cooked them in the grill for 5 mins - they were pronounced delicious by OH and very fussy DS, so I know they were good! I have frozen some too.
Thank you! I will be making more!

...but i'm a rubbish cook :rotfl:I wanted to try and make spicy ones using chilli powder and maybe with peppers in them too? Will that work? I've got all this stuff in you see.

    I've got:

    Mince beef
    Red Onions
    Peppers
    Chilli Powder
    Eggs
    Flour
    Bread (for breadcrumbs)

Do I need anything else? Do I just mix it all up and then shape into burger shapes and fry them?

Sorry if this all seems really basic but I want to make my OH some really tasty homemade burgers and I want to make sure I get it right.

    Thanks in advance xx

    Hayley xx

    Hi Hayley,

The ingredients you have are perfect for making homemade burgers. As we have an earlier thread with lots of recipes that should help I've added your post to it to keep the replies together.

when I make burgers (or indeed meatballs) I grate the veg with a cheese grater, but you could just chop very finely. I use onion and /or garlic and courgette but I'm sure pepper will work too. adding the veg gives extra flavour and makes them moist too.

I mix the mince, an egg, the veg, little black pepper, some herbs and a dollop of ketchup or brown sauce. I add oats too but maybe don't try that yet if you're worried about the end result.

I've never got on well with frying the burgers - they fall apart for me - so I grill them instead. yummy!

Thanks for your replies...I had a nosey for a burger thread, mustn't have seen it for looking :rotfl:

I think i've done it wrong...:rotfl: I googled burgers earlier and a few sites said to blend the ingredients but now it's gonna a bit mushy :o I didn't blend the mince, just the peppers and onions. Should I just keep adding flour til it sticks together properly?

    Thanks again!
