I'd forgotten all about this thread! And seeing the nice MrT is now doing his value beef mince in a lovely fine cut...guess what we're having for dinner one day this week!

I mix the mince with some made up (cooled) sage and onion stuffing ;) Stretches the meat further and saves chopping onions etc ;)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • mine are just mince, onion, wholegrain mustard, herbs (parsley/basil with beef, sage with pork, mint/rosemary with lamb)and salt and pepper
  • thanks!
What do you think would happen if I put suet in burgers?!

Also, was thinking of making sausagemeat burgers(lorne) as I have a pack in the freezer - but what other ingredients?

And I have a load of chicken and pheasant mince I was thinking of making into burgers, will it work?

    :)

  • Minced beef, finely chopped onions, breadcrumbs and a big pinch of oregano - bind with an egg yolk then shape and chill before frying - Yum!! :D
  • thanks!

They'd be very fatty  Most people want to sweat fat out of their burgers, not add more.

I make burgers from steak mince, nothing else :D I'll add this to the existing thread to give you more ideas.

  • This thread has really inspired me to make my own burgers. I've been trying to lose a bit of weight and getting bored with what I've been eating. I need a burger!!
Think I'll add onions, egg, breadcrumbs, chilli and cumin and serve in wholemeal bun with loads of sliced tomato. Will make hm wedges too. If I grill these they shouldn't be too fatty. I did a quick search on google and nutritional info looks ok. Off to get mince out of freezer
