Did a mini "tru" at couple of my DD's last night - didn't catch the oldest as she was in her room attached to her computer as usual but I will do later.... Fed up of coming home after a long day to walk in the (new) kitchen to see not one of them has even bothered to load/unload the DW, let alone pick up any of their stuff they drop all over the place. Every day the past week or so (if not many more days) I walk in the front door, straight to kitchen, make my tea while loading/unloading, getting dinner going, emptying the bin & doing 5 other jobs. If I dare to mention it they all start shrieking about how "it's not fair" etc..... So I had a bit of a wobbly last night & am going to be "mean mummy" today. Grrrrrrrrrr

I'm so glad that it's not just me who is in that situation!!! I now have an excuse to do absolutely nothing so we will see how much DD 1&2 do to help me. Considering DD2 has a full laundry basket in her room and won't bring it out (neither will I as I told her if she wanted her stuff washed she had to bring it down to the wm) this incoming week will be interesting. I can also see DH losing the rag somewhat ;)

    Morning all,

Thought I"d come online now before our power goes off again. Made Benny his dog food this morning, a Lemon Sago & tomato & onion quiche for tea. Well I've made the pastry, just doing the filling after this. I want it cooked before you know what might go off. ;) This arv I cut out a pattern & finished off my ironing. Going for a walk shortly & water the veggies. No rain here, just blue skies. :D

I had some worrying news from my sister. She has to go into hospital next Wednesday for a angiogram and balloon thingie but if she needs a stint then she'll need a special dr to put it in. I'll go and visit her on Sunday. I'm so worried. She said there are 3 arteries - 90% of one is closed with plaque - the other 70% & the other 50%. She also put her on some heart tablets to stop any more pain or from having a heart attack. We have herideraty (sp) high chol from our father.

    Enough of my ramblings.

N9eav It's just as grim over here. The same problems with mortgages, food & fuel costs. A lot of people are going to hurt.
Annie Hope you've recovered from your bad wind during the night. :p
Jannie Good luck with the studying.

Will pop back later, if I'm able. *fingers crossed smiley*. Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

don't get me started on kids helping around the house :( its an endless battle.
n9eav - know what you mean about budgets. I've noticed a big change in mine particularly with petrol. £30 used to fill my tank..last time it was £47. its something I can't cut down on because I live so far from work. And my shopping was nearly £10 dearer this week for a standard weekly shop.
off to work shortly. meatballs and pasta for tea.
hugs to those all those in need.

    Good Morning All

Special Hugs to Mrs-Mix, PenPin & Aussie & your sister, also to anyone else who wants one.

I too hate seeing the financial news at the moment, seems the Farmers are the only ones with any hope, really is worrying but us on os are already doing what we can so will just have to wait and see.

Quite dark here at the moment and a lot cooler so will spend today doing housework and laundry, dont know how much washing will get done - will see if it rains or not.

Probably something with chicken for dinner.

    Good Morning All

Went to bed too early last night (just midnight) so up early 6-7hrs max seems to be my thing. Lovely morning here (from looking through the window though it seems it only 5 deg.) Stage 2 of getting everything a home will be today's task though we may go light hunting. Thanks for the link whatatwit both cars listed, but will make sure that my insurance is done a week early I think from now on. SD & AB sound like you need to "hit them where it hurts" i.e. no clean washing, no meals prepared unless kitchen cleared, no pocket money, no lifts, treats favours, YKWIM. DS alway knew when he had gone to far and only got TOUGH as an answer with a shrug, yelling didn't work with him indifference did.

(((Hugs))) Pen-Pin, Smoky, Pam, Jayward, AB, AnnieBL, Anniestar, Aussie's Sister and everyone else I've forgotten.

On the subject of everything going up, I decided to swop my gas/electric last night. If you get a successfull dual change you get £62 back from Quidco to move to Scottish Power, who came out with the best customer service on Watchdog the other night. It may only save me £7 a year atm, but the prices are fixed until 2011, and I still get online billing which I need now, and no standing charge for when I am not here.

Pen-Pen - how are the chicks doing.

Take care all - remember tomorrow is Friday!

Squiggly diddley and arkonite babe, I am so pleased it's not just me who has this problem with the kids. One of mine seems to have a thousand and one other things to do when there is any sorting or tidying to be done and the other one though better, still can't bear the thought of actually helping out etc without my twisting her arm up her back (metaphorically speaking of course-despite the temptation sometimes ;) )
