I used to use my electric steamer a lot, but it's in storage at the mo, till we buy another house. I have replaced it with a basket type that sits in a pan from Ikea, which does the job just as well for a fraction of the initial cost, not sure if on the gas hob is cheaper than an electric steamer though.
I also have a huge 14 inch diameter pan with stacking steamer part, that is really usefull, both as a pan and for steaming lots of stuff at once. Don't know if I'll ever go back to the electric one now.0 -
I have a very expensive juicer bought as a present that I will never use,I was bought it by someone close so I can't get rid of it.I don't use my breadmaker either and I got rid of a brand new(unused) top of the range fat fryer as I could'nt be bothered to use it and to be honest I needed the storage space.
I'm very strict with myself now and won't buy any gadgets as I know I probably won't use them.I'll just replace the one's I do use when they die.0 -
My fruit juicer... huge machine which makes great juice but is such a pig to clean.
A slicer like this:
Great little gadget.. used it lots until one time I got distracted by a yapping friend and ended up with a big slice of the top of my thumb missing....
ouch...
Very very painful...
Had my thumb bandaged up and painful for weeks!
I never touched the thing since!
brrrr.. still get the shivers thinking about it...
An icecream maker.... only used it a few times... too much fuss...
I used to have a breadmaker but gave that away. I prefer the artisan bread method.
I think it's about time I cleared out my cupboards

The only things that live on the worktop are kettle, toaster and microwave, all of which are used daily
I HATE things out on my worktops.
I have the kettle, toaster, microwave & the Tassimo (stuck in a corner).
Its the whole getting it out, cleaning it & putting it away that stops me using/buying gadgets:rolleyes:0 -
I use my microwave daily, my SC several times a week and my small food mixer two or three times a week. But (hangs head in shame
) I have a breadmaker that has sat on top of my kitchen cupboard for two years and has never been used.I can't even think why I bought it.I lent it to my friend hoping she might have a go, but she said she never used it either.
I suppose one day it will get used but I have no idea when I only use about one loaf of bread a week and tend to wrap and freeze four slices at a time from one large loaf.So a large loaf lasts me for ages.
I shall probably get drummed out of OS forums for admitting this.
I love my slow cooker though and actually have two as my DD gave me her smaller one as a spare. Lots of things in the kichen cutlery drawer that don't get a lot of use but I have a stilletto type kitchen devil knife that my sis-in-law gave me about 15 years ago that I use every single day.0 -
I used my breadmaker when i first brought it but my bread was so hit and miss its now sitting in a cupboard gathering dust
I may try it once more then it will have to find a new home via freecycle

I can't stand too much stuff on the worktops so try and only have out what I use regularly: kettle, microwave, toaster and magimix (which I don't use as often as i should!)
The only other thing that regularly gets used is the stick blender.
Stuff I have but use periodically: slow cooker (DH can't stand any casserole type food!), george foreman (just don't eat much of that stuff any more), elec steamer (might get rid of this and get a hob one) and easiyo (hoping to sell this and buy a lakeland elec one instead as my friend gets better results from this than i do from mine!)
Before I moved I got rid of a juicer and breadmaker which were rarely used!
Almost my best thing is a bright orange microwave steamer from poundland!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I bought a small compact food processor last year. Tried it twice to chop onions and slice carrots. Absolute rubbish at slicing carrots, so it's been relegated to the back of the cupboard ever since.
Another thing keeping it company in the cupboard is a doughnut maker.0 -

Not too keen on gadgets myself! just given away my microwave I got fed up of it taking up worktop space when all I used it for was heating milk for coffee. I have a small GF who's days are numbered, just needs one of my boys to say "do you use that much". I love my Kenwood Chef and use a stick blender for soups and sauces and that's about it. I do have an icecream maker but don't use it too often as the ice cream is fabulous so we eat it too quickly!! :rotfl:Slightly bitter0
