Been having a clearout and erm...:o...have numerous gadgets I don't use and wished I'd never bothered with. Here's my list so far;
Yogurt Maker...it doesn't make yogurt, it makes sloppy gone off milk.
Rice cooker..it stuck together and was too mushy...no use.
Juicer....I've got 2 and mixed the bits up so can't use either unless I can figure them out.
Buffet server...hate to admit it but it's huge and I used it at christmas and thats it, despite telling myself I would use it regularly.:o
Health grill...it doesn't really heat up enough and is relegated to the back of the cupboard.
I have been good so far and got rid of the pasta making machine, whatever possessed me to think I'd actually make pasta...gawd only know?:rotfl:

Pannini Press - Too much hassle and cost
Juicer - too much hassle and mess!
Smoothy Maker - Just don't use it - blades are blunt.
Had a bread maker a while back, didn't really use it much as the bread was so stodgy!9/70lbs to lose0 -
Oh, I dunno I always thought that the OS "philosophy" meant that you did away with extraneous and non-essential stuff and managed without if you could. Unless someone donated them, of course.
I don't have any kitchen gadgets at all although sometimes I think I could do with a food-processor of some kind but I seem to manage OK with some good, sharp knives and a whisk for most of my dodgy attempts at cookery.
ETA: Actually, after giving this some thought I've realised that I'm a liar: I have a stick-blender thingy which is really handy for all sorts of things especially home-made hummus0 -

Good job Greenbee is away
I try really hard not to buy stuff, but my beloved gadget man likes to buy things. The candy floss maker he got me has been in the boxed up kitchen stuff for over two years - along with the 'slushy' maker. Breadmaker rarely comes out - mostly because it (or I) make rubbish bread, so it only gets used for dough.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Maybe, my OS philosophy is to try and make decent, nutritious meals with as much help from gadgets as possible...I like 'em, I suppose it's a hobby.:D
Obviously given my list above it shows some of these gadgets are rubbish or I'm not using them properly...they'll be going to the car boot or ebay.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

OK - don't shoot me, but I wish I'd never bought my kenwood. It's a very expensive ornament on my kitchen work surface as I just can't get used to using it no matter how hard I try. OH insists we keep it as a) it cost so bloomin' much and b) he thinks our daughters may learn to use one in Home Ec and they should have one at home.
I cook most of our meals, snacks, desserts - I've even been known to make our granola so it's not the cooking/baking side of it, it's the damned mixer. I shun it and use my £10 electric beater/whisk.
While I'm being honest with the OSers, I sold my Panny [STRIKE]255[/STRIKE] 253 on eBay too as I don't like breadmaker bread. Will I be cursed by the OS Gods forever?
ETA - My slow cooker only got used once over autumn/winter last year too."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

I love my juicer...I just wish it were easier to clean. DH loves the breadmaker: that's fine by me...it makes less mess than him baking by hand...and even better to be married to a guy who can bake! It was however a gift, and I would NEVER have bought one.
another gift that I have never, ever used is a slow cooker. It was bought my my mother for us while we have been living with her.....so no room to experiment, I'm looking forward to seeing if it helps. My hope is that its cheaper to run than the over for a similar style meal.
the thing I would like, tht my parents used to have, is a really good self freezing icecream maker. It was used often but also needed expensive repairs often. it made throwing together a pud for unexpected guests very easy and made really good luxury icecream very much cheaper to have. Its on my ''one day'' list
I don't have a food processor of my own, I'd like one, though I only ever use the blade bit in it so its low on my list, and I'd love a blender for soup.
The only thing I rally find very, very useful is my handmixer (which was very, very cheap). But dh whips things by hand still!0 -
My juicer - I used it once or twice when I bought it but the length of time taken to clean the thing just drives me:mad: so it's in the cupboard with the
Waffle maker - I can't get it to make decent waffles, just dimpled pancakes that burn on the outside while still raw in the middle. I've tried different recipes with no luck.
But I love my stick blender with attachments, I use it for blending, mixing, whipping, chopping.
It's only a game
