Does anyone know if the cancellations cover a potentila BA strike?
thx
You would need to check the policy to see if it covers industrial action.0 -
I am still pondering over insurance - thought I had decided and was going to take out Columbus Directwith their Emergency Travel Upgrade, however, have read that Aviva is going to be offering an add on from 1st June which would also cover any volanic ash problems! does anyone have any info/suggestions on which might be the better one (Aviva seem to be offering 2 different options and I`m really baffled now) . Thanks0

Hi, I am going to majorca with my 11 year old daughter on the 5th of June, I have travel insurance provieded with my alliance and leicester bank account, can anybody recomend insurarance for my daughter?0

You could add her to your Alliance policy (as long as she permanently lives with you). Otherwise she can have her own policy (which would probably be the cheaper option) - try direct-travel0

Hi i was wondering if somebody can help me??
Me and my partner re taking our 3 children away and ive looked at insureme4 travel insurance and just wondered if im reading their policy right before i buy it.....
Me, my partner and daughter have no health problems but my 5 year old sons have asthma, learning dfficulties and 1 has autism
the policy says:
It is very important that you read and understand the following and if
necessary declare any existing medical conditions to us.
1 You will not be covered for any claim arising from a medical condition for
which, at the time of taking out this insurance, you:
a are being prescribed regular medication;
b have received treatment for or had a consultation with a doctor or
hospital specialist in the past 6 months;
c are being referred to, treated by or under the care of a doctor or a
hospital specialist;
d are awaiting treatment or the results of any tests or investigations;
e have been diagnosed with or treated for cancer in the last 5 years.
Unless
You are aged 80 and under, the condition(s) are listed below, you have been fully
discharged from any post operative follow ups and shown as being accepted by us
in writing on your certificate.
under this it has lots of conditions including autism and learning difficulties so does this mean they are covered as long as their names are on the cover?
and then
If you are aged 80 and under and have one (and only one) medical condition and it
is listed below, there is no need to declare it. Should you need to make a claim
arising from that condition, your doctor must confirm in writing the date of
diagnosis, that the condition was stable prior to travel and that there was no
foreseeable reason why you should need to claim on this policy:
• Acid reflux
• Arthritis
• Asthma (if well
controlled by using
inhalers only)
• Diabetes (if well
controlled and no
associated conditions
e.g. Glaucoma or
other eye problems,
kidney problems or
peripheral vascular
so they only have asthma under this 1 so would be covered right?
Am i right in thinking if i buy this insuramce we are all covered?0 -
leeanne - Call them, it may just be that they want to know,and you are better telling them than maybe needing to claim and then they deny it because you did not disclose the info.
They may either, up the premium, decline cover altogether or decilne cover on the declared conditions, but they may also cover at no further cost or ristrictions.
You would be wasting money if you do not declare those conditions as the policy may be voided if you do not declare.C. (Ex-Pat Brit)

We are a familiy of four, including two kids (20&18). Last year we had a worldwide annual family cover (31 days total/year) with travelinsuranceweb for £63.99, which includes kids as they are still in college. Also allows for independent travel by all on the policy
I now need to renew it for this year and looking at options - I've checked and price is still the same, and levels of cover seem decent to0.
Medical Expenses £10 million
Cancellation £5,000
Curtailment £5,000
Baggage £2,500
Cash & Documents £500
Personal Liability £2 million
Is anyone aware of a better deal?
Is travelinsuranceweb reputable (before we find out we need to claim!)
Thx.

My renewal for Club Direct Worldwide Insurance has just come through, annual multi-trip for 2 people at £45.
Is this a good deal as I can't find much info on the insurer and would hate to be stung for the sake of £50. Reason I am wary is my partner and I are touring America in the summer and I want decent cover should anything go wrong- quite a different trip to a package holiday.
Thanks for any help0
