NATS - Virgin policies are with Insure& Go and underwritten by Europ Assistance - both good enough, nothing special - but bear in mind during the recent volcano mess, I&G and EA did not cover the delay as they put it down to "act of God".

£5m is plenty for US medical coverage (unless you are spending 2 years in ICU - then you may run out!).

If you have booked any part Hotel, Flight etc - you should arrange your insurance (with cancellation cover for SCHEULED OR CHARTER flights as soon as possible) so that should anything happen tomorrow = you're covered.

    Thanks again FH Brit!!!

It would appear that my A&L policy is run by FORTIS and in part underwritten by Lloyds.

I am just checking now to see if there is a condition on the bank policy that I have to book all / part of the trip on the account I hold with them (I fear it may be an exclusion as I haven' - but so far cannot find any details relating to this condition!)

You are a star for your help! Many thanks, Nats

You don't have to pay for your holiday via A&L to validate the policy.

(But you must have kept up the minimum monthly deposit throughout)

Nats - it should not matter if you use that account - it is Travel insurence not account insurance. It'll be the first time I've heard that condition - I think you're ok.

You are so welcome - any time

You are correct the product is travel insurance, but nevertheless, it is a condition of this complimentary insurance with A & L that you must make minimum monthly deposits throughout the policy year!

ANOTHER HUGE THANKS TO YOU BOTH!!! :T

My A&L account is well used (in and out unfortunately) so I am safe on the minimum monthly deposit side of things.

I will upgrade my policy this evening!

    Thanks soooo much, Nats :)

They are brokers, not an insurer themselves.

Is there any screenscrapers for travel insurance.

After single trip, family (2adults,2children), 10 days holiday to cyprus.

One member has had chest problems in the past, but chances are its slim to occur again. How would you declare this.

    Regards,

    Alias

    Edit -

Just ran moneysupermarket.com and its come up with a premium of £8 odd without medical thing.

Is this right.? Any decent insurers.?

The minimum credit to my A+L to keep the 'free' insurance running is £500 per month - anything less than that and the policy ceases to be valid.

You also need to be sure to declare any medical conditions. Again, the policy isn't valid if you don't comply with the very strict Fortis requirements.

    [/QUOTE]

The chest problems may well ring alarm bells for insurers and increase the premium substantially, depending on what it was. Asthma, for example, won't be much of a problem, but chest pains could be.

The only answer to your question is 'honestly and openly'. Anything less than that and you could find a claim being rejected - even if it isn't chest-related.
