My 13 year old is going to Ibiza with a friend and her family, has anyone got any recommendations and advice on travel insurance for her please.

She can have her own individual policy at direct-travel.co.uk

Just booked 14 days in Turkey next year for myself age 65 and husband 70 both in perfect health and travel agent wants £149.99 for travel insurance. Is this excessive?

You don't know unless you check the market and compare the policies to see if they are comparable.

Usually travel agents insurance can be beaten on price - but make sure by shopping round.

Do you have to tell you insurance company if you had a bronchitis 2 weeks ago and had antibiotics from the doctor? completely better now - travelling next week - its an annual policy.

    Thanks

Your policy will say what they need to be told about (there is no universal list of declarable items).

One way to be safe (from them being able to deny any related claim) would be to contact them and inform them. If you do this by phone record the name of the person you speak to, together with the date and time of the call.

Have just rung Insure and Go to explaine I had bronchitis 2 weeks ago and am now better - they made me do a full medical screening and want to charge me an optional £28.12 if I want cover for this. (feel like they think I have the bubonic plague). I know they only have a job to do - but it was quite horrible I felt like I had some kind of incurable disease. They wern`t bothered that I am fully recovered and seem to treat this as some kind of respiratory condition and this will stay on my policy and could affect renewal premium next May!

At least you now have the choice of whether you want cover or not (as opposed to finding out too late when getting a claim rejected).

Yes, but it just felt they went over the top for something that cleared up in a couple of weeks.
