  • Hello!

I'm moving to Thailand to become a dive professional. So will need continuous insurance for a trip of 12 months... Although I'll be living there on a VISA and will be in paid employment etc, I'll still need insurance for loss of passport, tickets, luggage, theft, and obviously all the medical insurance as the UK has no relations with Thailand like it does with Australia re medical cover etc....

I imagine I'll need specific insurance for the diving aspect, that's being taken care of.

What are the best deals in this situation?

    Thanks

Your best bet will be to extend the specialist dive insurance you have.

My question is, do I have to buy a policy before I book flights or will cancellation cover start from day policy bought?

we're taking our in laws out to visit our Florida villa -5 years persuasion to take long haul so booked flights before they changed minds. They are 70 and both in good health when I booked flights in January but since then my father in law has been unwell on and off with overnight stay in hospital and ongoing tests so they have been unable to buy travel insurance - one company, columbus, said phone back in September yet they covered my friend whose son has skin cancer and a bleed on the brain from an accident no problem!

Question is, if we do get cover sorted (say today) and then have to cancel December flights to USA due to health will they get money back or not? Also if he doesn't go nor will mum-in-law as she wouldn't want to and also he would need caring for so where do we stand with her flight?
Try MIA Insurance, they are very helpful, and will explain everything. They cover all existing medical problems and very good quotes.

URGENT!!! Trying to book travel ins now

My Question is we booked our holiday in my wifes maiden name as she has not changed her passport. Her E111 is in maiden name also. What name should we put on the travel ins?

You should check with the Travel Insurer, however most prefer you to use the name that is on the passport.

Please note that E111 are no longer valid, you need an EHIC card

My 8 year old son is going on holiday abroad with another family. I had asked about adding him to their insurance but they are just using the one they got with their credit card i.e. inadequate. Where can I go to get him adequate insurance? When I looked on Moneysupermarket they wouldn't allow a minor only.

    TIA
