Taurus.. if you get nowhere.. ring the local paper.. they like stuff like that and the situation is always remedied in days!!! I hope she does fantastically well.. and if nothing else it isn't all wasted she will have the other 3 qualifications behind her and she can do the Spanish at night class.. it might push her plans back a year but it is fixable!! I wish her well.. and the pox upon the tutor!!!

My sister text me at 7:30 to ask if it was ok to be REALLY REALLY sick... I said she has my permission to puke as often as she likes on whomever she likes so long as it isn't me and I don't want to see her hauling 25lg bags of spuds about! Bless her! She has her gynae appointment this afternoon (for infertility and a couple of dodgy smears lol) I said they will probably do a scan so we will know if we are knitting for one.. or two.. lol

I'm back from school.. I've done my most pressing tasks.. ordered and paid for DD2's school uniform for September... PHEW... that is 3 of the children sorted.

And.. I made a decision.. as my tax credits have increased £40 a WEEK I will put Tiddles in nursery one full day each week so I get a break and she gets the experience of going full time. After summer, I'll put her in 2 days.. and if they go up this much next year.. which is likely.. I'll put her in full 5 days every day after the easter. It was either pay for hot dinners every day with the extra money or put her in nursery.. no contest!! lol

:coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee: ... help yourself.. I need to go beat this list a bit!.. actually I need to go find the list first.. back in 2...

    question...

I am currently with scottish power for gas & electric (henceforth known as 'gne' lol) The bill from them for 1 quarter was £875. they froze my online access so I can't pay the bill and I will not pay it at the post office.. I am not a scrote.. I don't do handling cash.. it goes in the bank out the bankand I never see it. Their customer service sucks so I am legging it back to e.on.. they were fab before... anyway... I have a choice.. do I...

    1) not pay scottish power until I have saved the whole amount and then just call and pay it... (I have £300 on a credit card.. paid off card to pay a bill so not 'more debt' just moved debt.. and £400 in savings for christmas)
    2) Pay half now over the phone and the other half when I have it but this would mean cutting into my christmas savings
    3) save the money and ignore them until they shout at me?

    What is sensible??

Taurus - I really feel for you and your daughter and I am, or was, a languages teacher (do I need to duck?!). Her teacher has behaved appallingly, oral exams are nearly always the most stressful part of a languages qual. and she deserved to have been properly prepared. If you can get some satisfactory apologies and a way forward into next year then to my knowledge all exam boards have resits in either jan or june the following year - if you can find out which exam board I can try to remember to have a brief look for you, if you'd like.

Pigpen - can you change before you pay the balance? If you can then i'd pay what you've got now and then let them wait till you've saved the rest. Your bill is massive - I know there's a lot of you but it still seems a lot. Mine is £270 a quarter for gas and electric. Is it defintely right?

Oh yes, and hello!!!!, i've not been insulted by you for a while xx

taurus, maybe as your daughter is so keen on her studies it may be worth mentioning that many students don't access university on academic merit alone, I had school peers who were declined places because they didn't have other interests. This gave them the nudge they needed to 'get out there and do something other than study' as one put it. If she knows it'll help her Uni application it might encourage her if that is her only focus at the moment. One girl took up rowing (she was wanting to go to Durham) another took up athletics, another started voluntary work.

Mudbath mine is over £100 more than yours :(

Well not much studying done so far, been doing letters for the council and MPs for DP. Going to grab some quick lunch now then do some, must remember not to collect DS2 until 3.45pm!

Eeeek thinking of voluntary work I also need to clean my car out then rearrange the seats as I am running swimming, collecting people etc tonight, forgot about that.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
