I've just had a really close look at my toe - and have plastered it up - it looks like I'm going to loose the nail if I'm not careful
As my hol will involve a lot of walking through fields and things, I'll have to be careful about infection behind the nail. I shall add extra plaster to my Tesco shopping list.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning all, just. I have only just woken up I am afraid. I got up at midnight last night and didn't go back to bed until 5.30am while Dave was pottering around getting ready for work. I've also just realised I left my laptop on too, and I was logged into Facebook. Hope no-one thought I was being antisocial - I wasn't here..
I have no idea why I couldn't sleep last night, I was absolutely drained last night when I went to bed so I was expecting to go out like a light. If I have another night like that then I think it might be time to go back on the sleeping pills (herbal or script!) for a short while, not that I want to do this.
I have checked emails, written a couple so now it's time to shower and get dressed.
It's raining hard here today, so different from the last couple of days. So I can't have all the windows and doors open - it's coldish outside too
I am going to tackle my ironing pile, otherwise known as Mt Ironmore..it's more like Everest at the moment, I am sure it's breeding in the cupboard..
I have been keeping up with level one of the days, and I am actually finding it hardly any trouble at all. Maybe next week I will venture onto level two..we will see.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Ouch!!! Thats what I get for being smug and impatient!
I ordered a new thermostat for my freezer which broke down when I was on holiday. I thought I had nothing better to do than change it myself, rather than wait for help. I've managed to change it ok (I think!) but I cant return the freezer to its original position and I've cut my blooming hand in the process. Grrr  The dirt behind the kickboards is incredible. The dust build up on the fridge and freezer grills, yuck. Its a miracle they havent broken down before0 -
I know this isn’t really relevant to the thread (or maybe it is because I can’t even write a list let alone do one because I am so upset), but although I don;t post often I always read the thread and just needed some familiar “faces” to offload on if that’s ok?
My daughter is currently doing AS levels, 3 at a one high school and 1 as a link course at a grammar school. I have been trying ALL THIS SCHOOL YEAR to make someone listen to the problems that have arisen with the link course (Spanish). For a start the grammar school changed their lesson timetable as soon as the school year started so that the lessons did not dovetail with the high school as they had done in previous years, which has meant DD always having to miss either the end of her high school English literature or the beginning of Spanish at grammar school.
Because all the other pupils in her Spanish group attend the grammar school they all have pigeon holes which the grammar school tutor puts information in when she wants to communicate – but never gives the info to DD because “she doesn’t have a pigeon hole and she has forgotten to email it to her”
The Spanish tutor has been absent from at least 30% of all lessons due to meetings, yr 11 exam modules and so on but never tells my DD she won’t be there so not only does DD miss the lesson but she also wastes time walking from one school to another (15 minutes each way).
I have tried over and over again to get the school to sort out the problems but nothing has improved - and if they say they are grateful to me for rasing the issues because they might help them plan better for future pupils again I think I might scream!
Anyway to cut a long story short (there are plenty of other problems with this) today DD was supposed to take her Spanish Oral AS exam. I got a panic phone call 10 minutes before the exam started to say that the Spanish tutor had told DD she didn’t know why she had bothered to turn up because she was doomed to failure as she had not prepared answers to questions for the exam and emailed them to the tutor in advance ....these questions are ones that THAT THE TUTOR SHOULD HAV EMAILED TO HER AND HASN’T!!!!!!. I have raised Hell on the telephone with both schools and they are carrying out an investigation – which is all very well but what about the exam results my DD needs for her university entrance? She can’t have this past year back and her confidence and mood are so low I was really concerned at one point that she might do something awful (dunno what just was overcome with this feeling whilst on the phone to her).
She has gone from a happy girl with 6A*, 5A and 4B grade GCSE’s to someone who feels she has lost everything...oh yes meant to say that when she took on AS levels she took on Geography, English Literature, Chemistry and Spanish, intending to drop Chemistry at A level as it is her weakest subject, but now Spanish won’t be an option and she doesn’t think she will get the grade she needs in chemistry to go to the university she wants – so her whole future is messed up (her words).
I feel so helpless and miserable, so any advice or hugs would be very welcome – thanks for reading.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading
