We currently use 1899 and are NTL customers with NTL Broadband. Can I still keep the broadband with NTL and change the phone line to BT? We used to use BT before we had broadband.
Thanks

give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Thanks Heinz, that was the best i could come up with aswell. Only problem with that is we can get reconnected for free, but my existing telephone wire is all hidden under floor boards etc, but we are planning on moving within the next yaers, so i guess i can put up with messy cables
Mschappie - yes you can do that, when i went to move to bt before, bt cancel the ntl phone line for you, then the NTL retensions department will phone you up all the time, and may give you a good deal, but make sure you get a good long time deal!
Take care0 -
Hello
i m new for this thread and this is my first post.
I have just signup for BT landline today and i m on just imcoming line with BT which only gives me incoming calls and i can only dial free phone number means 0800 or 0808.
if i want to use either call 18185 or call 1899 or primus than what should i do?
as coz i cannot directly dial 18186 or 1899?
but still i can use my account with free phone number.
but the charges for mobile in uk in weekdays are more which 10p from call18185.
so is anyone can advise me what is the best option for me?
Cheers0 -
If BT allow you to call any Freephone Number and not just selected ones.
You cant use Primus as they dont offer freephone access, and your inbound only anyway.
You can use 1899/18866/18185 but only via their 0808 numbers. As you point out higher rates apply which cant be avoided.0 -
Thanks for your reply

The cheapest way in your circumstances would be to use 18185 ,0808 freephone number and dial India direct. 4p connection 7p a minute landline,or mobile.0 -
Hi
after reading the article on cheapest calls to mobiles, I followed the link to discount dial, but unlike the article, this says calls to mobiles are 4p per minute (UK) and the access number is different to that shown in the article.
(I think the number and price in the article are for calls to landlines in the UK rather than mobiles.)
Unless I've misread the info, the number to call for mobiles is 0844 4289090 and the cost is 4p per minute.

forgot to ask in the previous post, does anyone know if there's an extra BT charge for dialling this access number or will I really pay only 4p per minute when calling any UK mobile?
thanks !0 -
I've been dialing 1899 before my calls and get the 0p a minute voice, but for two months now i've had no money being taken from my account0

Generally they allow the bill to add up to about £5 before they take it, I can't remember when I last had a bill from 1899 either.0
