Hi all, ISOM glad you got your new pans :D Salster, it really does make you think doesn't it? I was spending a LOT on lunches at work until a few months ago, there was a 'lunch logging' challenge over on DFW which seems to have quietened down now but it was a great motivation for me seeing it all add up - the total in my sig is what I've spent on lunches/ snacks at work since we went back after Christmas, not bad but could do better! I don't find it costs me a huge amount more if I use leftovers from the night before etc, certainly not compared to shop bought sandwiches etc. Do slip sometimes but am not doing too badly considering what I was like :o

Am not entirely sure what I'm doing with my budget this week with friend visiting. I've spent £27 today from grocery budget on food, toiletries, cleaning stuff and some lettuce plants (including them and the compost etc as they should hopefully save me some money on salad in future). Also spent £2.50 on some sandals (charity shop but they look unworn) and £2 on insoles for my trainers. Did quite a lot of wandering round shops without buying anything - kind of testing myself I think! Actually felt quite horrible spending money but must eat!! :rotfl:

Right, trying to think about budget for this week, apologies for the 'thinking out loud'! Need £15 train fare tomorrow plus about £10 for meal out (2 for 1 voucher, should work out to about this much each I reckon). Monday we are out walking all day, probably take 'packed lunch'. Will prob eat out Mon or Tues night - say about £15, and I want to pick up a couple of £1.50-£2 Primark T shirts to replace some very old ones that have fallen apart! I may spend the Argos vouchers as well for a cheap shopping trip ;) Back to work Weds, shouldn't need anything till weekend. OK gonna say £50 for the week starting tomorrow, wish me luck!!

    Hi All

Well am sat at work on nights :( and just wanted to update before they chuck us off the computers.

So from tomorrow I am going for a no spend week, this should take me through till payday. Am on nights till Tuesday so plenty of sleep and housework should keep me away from the shops till Wednesday at least :D

I think I'm going to go for the Pilates ball - sounds a bit frivolous but is cheaper than going to classes (I used to go when they had them cheap at work gym so have a rough idea what I'm doing!), think it'll be good for my stomach and back muscles which badly need strengthened. Need rucksack for holidays as well but not needed till end of July will get that with the next batch of vouchers, get them regularly from doing Consumer Pulse surveys & should have enough points again in a few weeks time.

Have a good few days everyone.. I'm going to take my £50 out today and see what happens, shall report back on Wednesday!

I am a non-smoker so it makes no spend days a bit easier. Think if I was a smoker tho I would buy in bulk on my spend day or let myself have allowance for week.
If forced by finances I would give up but belive this has to be an individuals choice, as I know some of my freinds enjoy smoking (although as a non smoker I don't understand this:o)

10,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
Afternoon chums I did well this week ,spent just under £20.00 in total (didn't count the movies on Friday night with DGD and the meal at Nandos as it came from my 'happy cash stash', popcorn and sweets were in my cupboard so that cost nothing)
So far since I started I spent £6.00 the first week and £20.00 the second week

Start again tomorrow Monday 26th May for a third week, and will see if I can beat this amount. I have been 'shopping from my cupboards/freezer' didn't realise how much stuff I had in there. I am really enjoying being a bit more inventive. Suprising what you can make with a little bit of thought. I have used up some of the jar of red cabbage that I have had in the fridge since Christmas on my salad as I had run out of beetroot Still a vegatable of my five a day.I am just about to go and peel some spuds that I think may be starting to sprout a bit in my veggie bag I will boil them and mash and when cold scoop into individual portions to freeze. I have also found some braising steak in the freezer which I will do in the slow cooker tomorrow as I have a late hospital r/therapy session so it will all be cooked by the time I get home. I am being frugal with my petrol this week as the following week I get my new Motorbility car so I don't want my old one going back to the dealers with half a tank of juice in it.
Hope everyone has a good week, and keeps up the good work.My DD said that it was empty in Icelands this morning perhaps a lot more folk are thinking twice before buying food and filling their trollies willy-nilly as they did before.
