SS thats great & can relate to feeling a bit naff cos everyone else is spending but I start the week not thinking "ooo I'm skint!" which makes a nice change.

I started this week with about £5 left after doing the shopping and treating us on sunday and it's still in my purse whereas before I used to feel that I needed to have at least £20 in my purse "just in case" which of course just got spent then I had to get another £20 then....:o

Good point is that I'm a shining example that change is possible even when you're hitting 40! :D

tylersbabe - I drag DS to asda for pick'n'mix before cinema the idea of paying the cinema prices makes me shudder!

  • have been following these threads for a while now .. but due to family bereavement after family bereavement, and now the big C diagnosed in mother in law, i have fallen off the wagon. but only with a £41 spend on whiskey and southern comfort (and a couple ofpacks of choccie biccies).
hang on in there folks, we are only human.
btw, been on a spend free month and apart from the above slip, have managed to stick to it ... except for milk and petrol :D

    Go for it mumz..!
NSD on groceries for me today but did spend on lunch (not GB budget!) & got cakes for the team which actually wasnt as expensive as anticipated as a collegue paid most of it! So nice creamy cakes for the team!! Planning to shop on Friday and hopefully nowt needed till then...Will then stock up and go for a minimal spends week the week after - I have book group on Monday so it wont be NSW but will try to keep it low!

Hi out there in cyberspace :D

Well have spent a massive 84p today cycled to the pictures and my drink leaked all over my panniers .
So went into Home Bargins and bought 2 bottles of flavoured water and two bags of crisp (bought some for friend) . Which I thought was really cheap as I think it is £3.20 for a small soft drink in pictures

Back to no spends tomorrow tho

fell off the wagon a bit today and spent £14 in sainsbury's on stuff I could have lived without although some of it was on a really nice top that I think will cheer me up a bit so hopefully worth the splurge.

    Hi Skint-Spice

It is more than worth the splurge if it makes you feel good.

Just noticed your DFD and wow you more than deserve a treat just for taking all those months off DFD :T

Good Morning all, I have decided that i am only going to draw a tenner out of the bank. I do not need anything at all and i have a asda delivery coming tonight so thats my food for the week or 2 and it only cost £26 and my mum paid for it :)
I am on a course till friday 10-2.30 and then need to come straight home so i will proberly draw the £10 out tomorrow or when i need it, and if i dont need it i just won't draw it out :)
I have even stopped smoking and have a patch on and woke without a craving which is all good so far, i also have the inhaler ready just in case :)
