I planned to have a no spend day today but went to check my guinea pigs this morning and one had a gaping wound in it's back. I took the little darling to the vets and it set me back £35! I also spent £4.50 in Tescos on veggies, folic acid tablets, some grapes and - New magazine... Only 75p but still unneccesary. I'm going to stop this type of silly spending this month. I get paid tomorrow and need to save as much as I can this month. Just realised that's nearly £40 I spent today alone-and I wonder where my money goes...At least I'm going to be making a massive saving on wine in the next 9 months...HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

Well apart from the extra food shopping I've not spent anything all week,no bus fares and no extra snacks etc during the day. Payday today so start of a new month budget-wise. Popping out tomorrow to get a few garden bits, want to plant some lettuce and tomatoes to hopefully save a bit on salad stuff! Got a friend visiting for a few days from Sunday but will try to keep that as cheap as poss, got a few 2 for 1 vouchers for eating out and will get a supply of Tesco cheapie wine
Hope you all have a nice weekendDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I managed not to spend too much on shopping today - £20 for a week for 2 of us and the wee git eats more than me! washing machine died though so will have to fork out there but not much option, I think I'll have to stick on minimal spend weeks for june and july to recoup!

Hi All
Well I had a bit of an expensive day I went to see Indiana Jones at the pictures (yes I am that sad.....:o)
But when I got home I had a lovely phone call from the council. Had complained about the state of my allotment and a lovely bloke from the council met up with me and said "ok we will strim it all down for you not sure when we can do it tho". Along with lots of other support cause I had threatened to give it back to them after falling in the nettles one to many times :rotfl:.
Anyho that was yesterday and today a phone call to say it had been strimmed down for me :j

Next week I'll go for £25 & I'll do a NSW the week after wo will try a one on/one off pattern although will have some social stuff but will aim to keep it low! Plus my mum is coming next weekend and we're doing the race (or waddle in my case!!) for life so I'll need to feed her!
Off today to outlet village to get my new pans and clothes and will report back later although its is going to be painful I suspect!! Have a good day all!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Right I failed miserably this week, but the past week or so has made me re-evaluate the way I spend money and how much of it I spend on tat.
Essentially when I do my weekend shop I buy enough for the week and usually extra, but during the week I'm also buying dinners for work and just stuff that I worked out can cost up to £40 or so a week. It also came to head when I was having lunch with a mate the other day and we were on about debt and how much I was in (around £14K). He asked me what I'd spend a 5 grand loan on and I couldn't tell him .
So lots of thinking to do.
I would like to say a big thanks to ISOM and everyone though for making me realise that I need to seriously sort myself out.
Thanks. :beer:Aiming to be Debt free by October 20130 -
aww thanks sansgeter - we're all in in togeather & at least you recognised there wa a problem relatively early on. My debt was 37000+ when I had my LBM!! Have you thought about doing a spending diary? Does help to track moey & set a realistic budget!
Am back from my shop a you can see! Got lunch (Mc Donalds - dont know why I have i as they are foul!!) and no clothes but did get a pan set from asda which are deelicious & dead cheap for the uality. I also need a ew wok but didnt want to get it all at once so will get that when I next shop (tomorrow?!!). Didnt do food shop today as need to plan what I get & will do a my supermarket shop online first as only need a few things...off to have a snooze!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Well, total no-spend on food ended up as £5 this week, not too bad.
I have shopped today and got all except the fresh stuff till the end of June, I wasn't going to wait until the beginning of June to do this, as I'm off work this week and have visitors for over a week at the beginning of June. I'm pleased with what I have got and will get lots of stuff processed and in the freezer today and tomorrow. There will be some meals left for next month as well."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
