  • hi, i am from essex and my wife has also been taken in by this scam back in july 07, thought it was a scam, wife was told the contract was legally binding by tradind standards so have been paying as agreed, we both had our inductions, and have never returned due to work hours, but after reading this forum i am now confused, can i stop the dd, what if any enforcement can they use against me, and is there anyone out there that can give me a link to any letters that may be useful, and has anyone any beat this scam?
  • Hi all, havent heard anything from any of them for weeks and weeks now....i think theyve given up, but havent had the decency to actually tell me in writing that theyve given up!!

Grangit, stop the DD now! Dont pay them a penny more - read throught the forum - now very long i know (it was only two pages when I got involved!) and you will find all you need to know.

Good luck and stay strong, dont give up.

    Pete1210 - I know where you live!! LOL!:rotfl:
  • I too have not heard any more from any of them.

Nor me, not a peep for a few weeks now. It would be the best Christmas present ever if they have given up.:o
  • Perhaps our combined efforts to stop paying plus the credit crisis has all taken it's toll on these idiots & finally flattened them! Would be interesting to know whether they're still operating from the Southampton site?

Maybe Watchdog contcated them & they bricked it - if that was the case then that would explain why there hasn't been any coverage of this on the programme...in other words, nothing more to tell! Let's hope so!

CashmerePencil - Do you have vicious dogs? Hee hee
  • stumbled upon this forum by chance - what a relief!
Have spoken to TS in Gloucester, and sent letters to AMC & LyleHill. Latest response from LyleHill on 16th Dec & AMC on 17th Dec. All the usual stuff in stilted format!

Have tried to submit details to Watchdog but web broke:cry:, so will have a go at emailing them when frustration has worn off

    Hi all,

I never did forward my address to this lot so I have no idea on whether they are still trying to contact me?

  • Hi all n happy new year!
Grangit, as said above, cancel that DD IMMEDIATELY!! Don't worry about what trading standrds told u as it depends which office u talk to, if they haven't heard of this scam they are no help what-so-ever. Trading standrds in hereford know all about it and would have told u something completely different.

Anyway, it's been months since i last spoke to the "debt collector"(!), who said he would call me back in a week to let me know whether they were going to pursue it. Not heard a peep from fitlife either, neither has my friend who is in the same boat (thx 2 me :( luckily she's still my friend:)).

Jgalaszia-AMC (associated members club) and fitlife r still in business, i "joined" in may last year. Oh right, i've just read ur post again, and im confused, they would of had to change their name again otherwise they don't exist???!!Call the police that's fraud!(maybe)

Pete good on ya, those letters aren't going anywhere apart from the bin!!:rotfl:

Sorry to hear that so many of you have been badly treated by this bunch of crooks. Scams like this are really nasty.Whenever I get anything like this in the post it goes straight in the bin.If I am feeling particularly vindictive, I pop their literature into the prepaid envelope of another company also offering me something I don't want and vice versa so that it costs them for the priveledge of receiving each others mail.My friend has even resorted to wrapping a brick and attaching their prepaid envelope to it before posting it, thereby ensuring that they pay through the nose for the postage!!!At the end of the day, if it sounds too good to be true - it probably is!Hope everyone affected by this, does not suffer financially.Strumpet
Hey i love that-im actually looking forward to getting some junk mail now, it sounds like fun and a great way to unwind!!:T
By the way im a bit uneasy about y empingham seem to be referring those who have spoken to them back to fitlife, but r pursuing those who haven't. Rather than washing their hands of fitlife altogether.
Maybe it's best if all of u DID speak to empingham...
