Hi all, I'm new on here but have been reading these pages for weeks. I am at the same stage most of you are at, ie having received letters from all 3 (for want of a better word) 'companies'. Just waiting now for the letter from Empingham. Thanks to all of you on here, I am feeling much better about things now, I have been very worried, even though my local Trading Standards Officer and CAB have told me not to. I, too, got a call from Watchdog last night and I am sending them copies of all my correspondence today.
    :T
  • Hi Guys! I was contacted by Watchdog last night too so that means that someone is listening to us. I also told them to have a look on this site to see how many people have been scammed by these morons. So the more of us that contact Watchdog the better - we'll sort these people!!!!!
  • Wel done everybody!! It'll be awesome to see them exposed on Watchdog!!

Hi Pete 1210 - seen yr van, have been meaning to pop over but you know what its like!! Catch up soon.

Just to update everyone, I have received an e-mail from the Office of Fair Trading today. The companies we are in dispute with do have a consumer credit licence and the OFT has a duty to monitor the fitness and conduct of all traders who hold such a licence. They have noted my complaint and will consider it alongside other complaints they have received.
  • o god, i just typed loads and then something went wrong and i lost it all! Can't type it all again!
So just a very quick update as i haven't been on here for ages and some might be wondering what's occuring-empingham phoned me a few weeks ago, i told them about the breach of contract etc etc and that trading standards were saying i didn't have to pay. I also sent him some emails i had got from trading standards basically saying fitlife are full of $%£" (well ok that's my own words, but it's close enough!) I said a lot of other stuff too but what it boils down to is that he said he would contact me in a week to let me know whether his manager had decided to pursue or not.
This was 3-4 wks ago and im still waiting.......

  • Nearly two weeks now without any contact from Empingham or Fitlife or AMC.
Maybe tomorrow or next Monday (the usual day I have received letters from them).
  • We still haven't heard anything from any of the companies. It's been about 3 weeks. Perhaps silence is their way of dropping it???! In which case I plan to celebrate with a LARGE glass of well deserved wine! Cheers everyone!

    xx

  • Does anybody know what Watchdog plan to do...do they have a case yet? They never replied to my complaints
  • Hi pete1210,
Not sure what they plan to do, I think they're just gathering information and following up on a few leads. I plan on watching Watchdog on Monday evenings to see if they say anything.
It's a little frustrating when you're not quite sure what's going to happen though.
