The letters are from Lyle Hill. Fitlife AMC never replied to any correspondance0

Mentioned in previous threads is the owner of the Associated Members Club, one Doriana Smit. Unfortunately as we all know, AMC only has a PO Box in Cheltenham.
Well I have done some digging and found that she and her husband own and work in a gym called The Sport Connection,
205 Leckhampton Road
Cheltenham
GL53 0AL
01242 221900
I may start directing my correspondance directly to her there!0 -
I've now received a letter from Empingham, a company that have been asked to pursue the debt!
I have noticed that they are stating that the amount due is £500.03 when it's was actually 24 mthly payments of £16.53 Totaling £396.72, in my case minus £33.06 as my bank didn't cancel the cheque I sent back in June, because I stated the wrong cheque number....but I think the bank should have queried that I gave a different number to what a cheque number usually is, so I cannot claim this back and Fitlife have now had £33.06 out of me. They are not having anymore, I assure you!!
I got in touch with trading standards after seeing a post on here that they have a questionnaire that is relevant to AMC, I'm awaiting for this to be emailed to me.....but also the lady there emailed me a template letter, I had to doctor, and I sent a copy to all companys involved 1st class yesterday......So I advise that you get in touch with Trading Standards if you haven't already0 -
I have just recieved a letter from Fitlife offering me to settle up with their so-called exclusive one-time interest-free settlement offer (because they really do not make any profit on this - yeah riiight!)
During the week next week I will be forwarding all of my correspondence to my contact at Trading Standards to see what is reccommended to be the next step (of more of my time) in contacting the Financial Ombudsman Service.0 -
when my freind and i first signed up to this scam he asked us for £10 for something or another so we gave it to him. when we got out side i asked her what it was for, and like me she didnt have a clue. thinking about it now it must of went in his pocket the theiving B*****d. I wonder how many other peple he stole from that day, cus thats what it is STEALING. and if they think their getting any money out of me then they can think again. i received a letter from EMPINGHAM(DEBT COLLECTION) telling me unless payment or contact is made in 7 days they will continue the debt reovery process. im neither paying or contacting them and that was 7 days ago. they dont scare me and if we all stick together they will soon get the message YOU CAN TAKE US TO FITLIFE BUT YOU CANT MAKE US PAY:T0

I've only just noticed today, that when my wife didn't have our bank account number to hand at the time of the enrollment, the pink carbon copies of the so-called agreement where left BLANK against her signature - they filled in the missing number for her when she phoned up later that day.
But my thinking here is that if they think they're so hot on their spot-on agreement, surely this can't be right?...or not? what do you think?...like most however, maybe I'm tripping & that the mere fact that this lot are really taking the mickey is enough to crack 'em!0 -
not sure about that one, as i didnt fill out any of my form, he filled in everything including my bank details. the only time i had the pen in my hand was when i signed my name. i think in your wifes case, the fact that she gave her details over the phone makes no diffiernce, but on the other hand if her copy that she has at home is still blank then the form is uncomplete and therefore worthless, and thats just my thinking0

Hi All, Just received another letter from AMC stating:
"Having looked through all the correspondence received from all parties concerned, The Associated Members Club are in a position to offer the following:
We will open an internal investigation into the activities that occurred during the selling of the memberships in order to identify what representations were made to the consumers and the selling techniques involved. However we should advise that while this takes place the finance company will expect payments to continue as normal until the outcome of the investgiation is confirmed."
They also state: "If you feel an investgiation unnecessary, The AMC, on this occasion would be willing to transfer both memberships uner the names of OPS. We have a waiting list of people keen to take advantage of our memberships therefore we can organise a transfer, free of administration charges, on their behalf providing their service contributions are up to date at the point of transfer."
I DO NOT intend to transfer this crap onto another innocent by-stander. I DO NOT intend to give them any money and I DO NOT consider this an option.
I want the memberships cancelled - end of.
I've got my solicitor on call back - so i'll let you all know the outcome.

Hi again All,
This is the response I've just drafted - will be sedning it in the post this evening:
In response to your letter dated 25-Sept-08.
I consider an investigation to be beneficial to your ‘future customers’. I will not be making any payments, as I have not used the gym facilities. We haven’t even had our induction into the gym. Therefore we do not feel it appropriate to pay for something we have not and will not be using. You are more than welcome to check this with the gym (Everybodies Health & Fitness, St James Trading Estate, Barton street, Gloucester).
Since you have, “a waiting list of people keen to take advantage of our memberships”, I see no reason why we have to “transfer” our memberships. I think it would be much easier for you to cancel our memberships, thus creating two open spaces. I will not be signing any more paperwork related to Associated Members Club through fear of being trapped into an arrangement that is not clearly outlined.
I've also said how sorry I feel for the future consumers who get sucked into their SCAM.
I wouldn't wish this hell on anyone!
