I contacted Watchdog over a year ago and I actually received a call from one of their researchers but I was driving to pick my daughter up from school and never heard back. Shame cos on their site it says you will only hear from them if they're interested. Maybe we should all go on their site and tell them, might just get them to report on it.PAD total since 27/07/09 = £60.83 - [strike]Capital One[/strike]:[strike] £192.73[/strike]£27.00 Next catalogue: [strike]£429.00[/strike] £154.00Welcome car HP: [strike]£6090[/strike], £3900, Welcome Loan:[strike]£3370[/strike], £2660HLC #1: [strike]£907.00[/strike]£637.00, HLC #2:[strike] £838.00[/strike]£608.00Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 - Member #649 - Target £500...banked £119.50 already.0

watchdogs ok but not everyone watches it-you need a big organisation like bbc news 6pm evening slot malcom preston buisness editor he seems to know his stuff.0
-
It's better than nothing though, and it could be the start of many investigations, after all, if the FSA etc are contacted by Watchdog, they're not going to want to be seen as doing nothing.0

I agree, and if enough of us contact them it's got to be worth a try.PAD total since 27/07/09 = £60.83 - [strike]Capital One[/strike]:[strike] £192.73[/strike]£27.00 Next catalogue: [strike]£429.00[/strike] £154.00Welcome car HP: [strike]£6090[/strike], £3900, Welcome Loan:[strike]£3370[/strike], £2660HLC #1: [strike]£907.00[/strike]£637.00, HLC #2:[strike] £838.00[/strike]£608.00Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 - Member #649 - Target £500...banked £119.50 already.0

Yes watchdogs good in certain areas, but look what they did to tiscali 2 weeks ago,i know many people that are happy with them, and save a lot of money.
The way watchdog portrays matters leaves a lot to be desired!!
Which magazine or the guardian buisness news are exellent for this sort of thing.0 -

The way they dealt with Tiscali was fair and unbiased. My lecturer only had a problem with them this week.
Anyway that's going off topic, I'm going to email WD, the more people that do, the more chance of them being investigated.0 -
welcome finance is in deep trouble and is very close to collapse despite denials from provident financial which owns welcome finance and which is also close to collapse and is getting rid of a large number of staff within the next 2 years, don't forget provident financial will not tell you the truth about its financial quagmire. The new debt relief orders will be the final nail in the coffin for provident financial, provident financial is to lose millions due to debt relief orders0

Provident Financial is nothing to do with Welcome Finance; it's owned by Cattles. Besides, Provident is actually doing OK out of the current recession.0
