You can request a sellers address via ebay. I'll see if I can find the link.

Unfortunately, you are unable to access the contact information you requested. This can be due to a number of reasons:

    1. To better protect the privacy of eBay users, you can only request contact information for eBay users who are involved in your current or recent transactions. Examples are:
    • Sellers can request the contact information for all bidders in an active transaction and the winning bidder in a successful, closed transaction.
    • Bidders can request the contact information for a seller during an active transaction and in a successful, closed transaction if they are the winning bidder.
    2. The item number entered is not associated with the User ID that was entered. View the item you entered and make sure the item number and User ID you entered are correct.

    3. The item number you entered is no longer available. Contact information is only available while the item is accessible on eBay.

    4. The user you are requesting contact information for is an International user. Due to International laws, contact information for International users may be limited.

If you would like to contact this user, you can send a message via eBay's email forwarding system by clicking on their User ID.
    ebay.oDocument.oPage.createConfig = function() {var c = ebay.oDocument.addConfig(new EbayConfig('EBX.CrossLinking'));c.sLayer='ebx_layer';c.sHTML='iconInfo_16x16.gifYou\'ve left eBay Express.Shop again on eBay Express|iconCart_15x10.gifShopping CartlogoExpress_95x39.gif</img>btnExpressClose.gif</img>';c.sCartCountText=' ()';c.sClose='b_close';c.aHost=!!'0':'ebay.com','77':'ebay.de','2':'ebay.co.uk','15':'ebay.com.au'};c.aHideOnParams=["fromebxris=1", "fromebxrisZ1"];} ;ebay.oDocument.oPage.createConfig();s.gif

hi this is what I got back from ebay. what do I do now?
The seller ended the sale early and he had a reserve on it of £400 but no one was bidding that high and he agreed to sell it to me for £325 + £50 postage.
So he sent me the paypal bill and I paid it but it did not go through ebay.
What a horrible, horrible scumbag thing to do.
I put the correct name in is't that the user ID?
This is the item number will you still be able to see it if the item is closed?

This is the previous one that I actually bid on but did not reach the reserve of £450 that time.

This was not an ebay transaction so this is not possible.

    About Transactions Outside eBay

We don't permit our members to solicit sales outside the eBay online marketplace.
If you knowingly or unknowingly bought or sold an item outside eBay and believe you were defrauded, please fill out the appropriate form below. What will eBay do with the information you send?
eBay always investigates reports of members breaching the eBay User Agreement. After investigating your report we may take action on the other member's account, for example by suspending their account. We may also send warnings to other members they've recently dealt with. However, due to our obligation to keep details of member accounts private, we can't share any details of the action we take with you.
Unfortunately, transactions outside the eBay online marketplace are not eligible for eBay services, including feedback, contact information requests and the Item Not Received and Unpaid Item Process . Therefore we can't reimburse you any money you've lost via an off-eBay transaction.
In addition to reporting the other member to us, eBay also strongly advises you to take the following steps:
In addition to reporting the other member to us, eBay also strongly advises you to take the following steps:
    • Contact your local police. We'll be happy to help with their investigation.
    • Contact the service used to send payment (if applicable).
    • Contact your credit card company (if applicable). Most card issuers provide consumer protection in instances of online fraud or misrepresentation.
    • Contact your postal carrier.
How to tell if you have carried out a transaction on eBay:
    • Go to the eBay site on which you registered.
    • Click My eBay and sign in.
    • Click the “Won” link under the All Buying section if you bought an item, or click the “Sold” link under the All Selling section if you sold an item.
    • Check to see that the item you bought or sold appears, along with the User ID of your seller or buyer.
Note: If the item does not appear, the transaction probably happened outside eBay and is unsafe. As buyers, you should never pay for an item that doesn't appear in My eBay.

oh god does this mean that I have committed fraud by paying him off ebay? I had no idea and nothing to gain I just thought because he was dropping his reserve that he couldn't or didn't know how to use ebay and neither did I.
