If i remember correctly, the Parcel Force tracking number only updates once the item has been collected and scanned into the system, then you can track it fully. Before then it will probably say invalid or similar, just didn't want you to waste your time checking all weekend if it doesn't get collected till monday.

Hope it all works out for you.

Oh I do hope it all works out for you.

I must admit, by this time I'd be highly suspicious of anything this man says. How the heck did he think the post-office were going to deliver a mattress? Maybe he is genuine, and just a plonker, I do hope so.

Watch out for another scam though.... sending an empty envelope recorded delivery, to get a signature, which is then used as 'proof' that the item was received.

Keep checking for the tracking number, and let us know what happens.... we are all waiting with baited breath!

Hi nmmmm yes you are right I just tried parcelforce website and it didn't say it was invalid but wouldn't give any information. I phoned up parcelforce and they said that item had been paid for pickup on Monday with delivery Wednesday. They said it was 2 parcels which is what I had been told 1 with foam mattress and the other with the bedding. They wouldn't or couldn't say what it was but did say there was 2 parcels coming to me on Wednesday.
God what do you all think. I have all the correspondence printed out and that took all morning to take to the police. I still haven't done that because today was the day that he said he was coming back.
When I told him I suspected a scam he said he wouldn't be phoning me back if it was a scam and his business partner did not have access to his home to see to the parcel for him.
Parcelforce also confirmed that he has paid for 2 items. Crikey what should I do now go to the police or what?

I am also leaving tomorrow to go to Canada, my daughter is graduating from uni at vancouver and the kids are paying for me to go out for it and to see them all. So should I go to the police now or not? Do any of you know if this could be one more step in the scam? do you think he would go to such lengths and what would he put in the parcel if it is a scam? Must have paid for it with a card too because they said it was done on line.
Decisions decisions. I am not very good at this. When I was 5 years old and messing about in school I had to write 20 times, "procrastination is the thief of time" and I am still doing it.

    Hi all,
I called the seller today on the mobile number given and there was no answer. I left a message saying that I had just printed out all the correspondence from him and myself with his address and telephone number and was going to the police within the hour. He phoned back about 10 minutes later and said he was just in from Spain and could understand my concern. He said he was going to the post office to post the item and I said the post office would not take such items. He called back to say I was right that the post office would not take it and he was getting in touch with a courier. He called me back wth a tracking number and said he had contacted a courier and would be picked up on Monday and delivered on Tuesday. He gave me the tracking number and said it was with parcel force.
I told him that I thought it was a scam and he was very apologetic saying he could understand my concern but his brother was supposed to do it for him. He gave me a tracking number but I cannot find it on line. I phoned up parcel force and they said it did sound like a right number for them but it takes about 2 hours to show on line. He sounded considerate and genuine but then scam artists normally are don't you think?
    What do you all think?
I don't know but hope springs eternal. Well will go to the police anyway now. Will let you all know when I am afloat on my new mattress and bedding. Keep you all in suspense lol.
If I see thetracking on the internet do you think it is genuine then as he will have had to pay for it right? or wrong I do not know much about all this stuff as you can tell. Never mind I have had some great deals on here and on ebay and I am a winner never mind what. Why do I have to phone paypal Tim will they do anything else? They probably have 100s of these to deal with every day, why would they give mine priority?

    Does the mattress contain springs?

You need to contact Paypal because they are the ones who should hopefully try to reclaim your money from his bank account. You have to keep calling them so that they realise that is is urgent.

I'm disappointed in you, Taffy! Either you're daft or extremely gullible.

I apologise for sounding so harsh, but I hope it will make you sit up and think.

Haven't you phoned Paypal yet? Why not?

You are dealing with a conman. Mention of the police spurned him into getting back to you with another pack of lies. That's all. Your phonecall was a waste of energy - unless of course you asked him his full name and address. Did you find out his name, at least?

You don't honestly think this thief and fraudster is going to send any bedding, do you?

You won't get your money back unless you follow the original advice that you were given from Soolin and Tim. For god's sake do it.

You have had a lot of sympathy and concern from this board. We want you to win. We are backing you all the way. But it's like banging one's head against a brick wall.

he's obviously sent something as parcelforce have confirmed this, just make sure you open the packages in front of the parcelforce driver before you sign for them

That's my concern - he could send two packages each containing a brick. He'll have a signature and proof of delivery - which is sufficent for paypal to throw out the claim.

    Hi
I have gone to the police they are coming around tonight. I thought I had followed the advice of everyone. I did put in a claim to paypal and then I proceeded it up to the next level. I did write again to paypal and tell them that I thought it was a scam and I asked for his address. Then I contacted Ebay as I had originally bid on the mattress the first time around. They sent me info just saying it was Devon and confirming his telephone number.

I have listened to advice yes I am totally gullible that's why I am in this pickle. i believe in the good in people and do unto others as I would have others do unto me.
The only advice I have not done is to phone paypal and as I have just been out of the house for the last 3 hours at the doctor's, the diabetes clinic, the opticians and the police station I guess now it is 6.00 and I am too late to call paypal.
I have listened to advice in as much as I have been able in the time frame and with my limited understanding of the way paypal works. I am totally shattered and will write again to paypal.
    Thanks all of you.

by the way I am a disappointment to myself.
