Afternoon everybody :hello:
((((hugs)))) if you need them
I've just received a parcel from another OldStyler and am really touched, you know who you are
Work is still manic, and it is going to be difficult to concentrate this afternoon thanks to some colleagues leaving. Everybody's going to be gathering round their desks to say goodbye, and making a racket. We have an open plan office and there are really too many people for the amount of space we've got. Also in the space of a WEEK I have shelled out £15 on whip-rounds for people's leaving presents. I only put in to people's collections if they are people I really get on with - but all these people are. There are 2 more leaving in the next couple of weeks, dunno if a card will come round for one of them as she's not based on this site, however if it does, I'll have to contribute as she doesn't feel she has many friends at work and definitely considers me one of them. I'm going to be spending a small fortune at leaving dos as well...
Have fed my colleagues on lemon drizzle cake this morning
My baking is becoming very popular in the office, and one of my close colleagues slipped me £2 yesterday towards the ingredients :T My boss says he will do the same next time. I'm glad of that, because much as I enjoy baking, and much as I could afford the ingredients anyway, it's good that people recognise the cost involved. I mean the cost of a medium organic free-range egg is what, about 31p now? so that's almost a pound just for the eggs in a 3-egg recipe. And the majority of a pat of butter, what, 70p ish? Altogether it must be well over £3 to make that cake at today's prices.
I'm going to have to do some cooking over the weekend. My freezer is at that stage where although it's full, it's got very few prepared meals left and loads of raw ingredients. The curries book I bought yesterday has got some good lamb recipes, so I will have a look at what I might be able to do with the eight packets (or however many it was) of chops that I picked up cheap the other week at Asda...
Ohhhh I can't wait for this day to be over. But at the same time, I don't want it to go too quick, as I HAVE to finish this report before I leave the office. I am going to a concert at 7:30, and I'm not sure I'm going to make it for a quick drink at my colleague's leaving do (which is on the way).
Anyway, back to work... boss just told me that there may be some more changes to bits I'd already completed... AAAARGH
Rzl xx

Hi Guys!
Havent read through the thread yet, but thanks for the PM's and lovely messages:D
I am having a better day today, so after my hospital visit we went to Bromley (Free Parking in the Shopmobility and scooter hire;) ) for a couple of hours and OH treated me to a "Spud U Like" with chicken Tikka...scrummy! He was able to get 3 decent t-shirts for the summer from TKMaxx which should have been £140 for the 3 but he got for £32.00 and we picked up a smallish Wok...big enough for the 3 of us reduced to £5.99 from £35:j :j ...really want to try and do stir frys but have never really done them before. On the high street we bought 3lbs of Satsumas and a large box of seedless grapes for £2.00 all in, then went to Primarni:p and spent £11 on 2 gorgeous unusual necklaces, 2 tops for DD, 3 pairs of thick tights for me and 2 pairs of black fishnet tights for DD...as apparently they are in in fashion ATM
....bargain we thought! Also picked up the free pack of Sanitary towels with the voucher Boots sent me and they are normally £2 a packet!
Found a beautiful snowglobe for DD in the disney store reduced to £6. She loves them.
Got home to find a voucher from Ebay for £10 towards anything, so I treated myself to Close Encounters Of The Third Kind on BluRay and only had to contribute £1.49 towards it after the voucher was taken off:j :j :j OH also had a voucher for a FREE new coffee at Starbucks...so he was happy.
I am knackered now...but have had a lovely day! Got back to a lovely clean home too as the cleaner had been this morning and OH is treating us to a Chineese later for dinner as he sold something and made quite a profit on it....result!
WM has been on and DW emptied.
Hope everyone is well.

HI everyone - here I am having got loads done this morning; payroll, banking, shopping and haircut and I also had a new battery put in my watch; I've been without it for about a month but couldn't stand it any longer.
Mancbird - Manchester Tart is really easy; put a layer of jam in the bottom of a pre-cooked pastry case, cover with slices of banana (optional but worth putting in!) cover with half a pint of custard then top with dessicated coconut and put in the fridge for at least an hour. I did it for pud last night and it went down really well.
Aussie - you are a star! Thank you so much. The recipe is now engraved on my heart!
Martyn - so glad that life is feeling grand at the moment!
Beth - your food sounds yummy!
PenPin - gald you had a good and productive day!
Tattycath - lots of (((hugs))) to your DD.
Dogros - congratulations on passing!
REdRuby - I do hope your nephew does not have to go back to his parents.
Well, I can hardly keep my eyes open to I'm off for a doze on the sofa,
KathyXX
Slowlyfading - hope you're better soon

Hi all,
Smoky, thinking of you as always.
dogrose, congratulations on your result.
Racy, hope your cold feels better soon. I can't believe they would consider charging you with assault.
Mrs Mix, hope you are feeling better and that no news is good news with your Dad.
Sunnyday, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better today.
It's a lovely sunny day here, but windy too so I've had two loads of washing on the line and they're dry already.
I'm frantically packing for our long weekend in London but have had to get ds2 an emergency appointment with the GP this afternoon as he's complaining of a sore ear so it sounds as though he might have the start of an ear infection and I'm worried that the flight tomorrow may make it worse.
Tea tonight will be cauliflower soup and crusty bread, then I'm off out to work. Hopefully it will be less eventful than last night when the car's brakes failed.
It was scary at the time but thankfully there was no harm done to either the car or me and Mr Pink brought the other car over so I could continue with my calls while he waited for the RAC to tow the car to a garage. No doubt it will be expensive to fix  but I'm not going to let it spoil the weekend.
Right, I'd better go and get on with it. Hope you're all having a good day.

Good afternoon all!
Looking forward to catching up with the thread later and having a read in peace- interested or just nosy?!
Don't think I've done one os thing today, except water new tom plants out the front, they look quite fetching under the window, oh says we look like we're living in the 1940's!
Had a lovely trip to the shops, nice full cooked brekkie, several bargains, including a nice new le Creuset utensil pot and a beautiful Radley bag that I've been coveting for months! Finally it was reduced today! I've saved so much on food in the past few weeks, since getting back to os cooking and planning, that I didn't feel in the least bit guilty about buying it- well not too guilty, didn't tell oh the price, lol!
Enjoy your afternoons all, I shall be back later!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Well then, this is it, I am now officially on holiday!!!!!!!!!!! Going to break out the G+T soon. Stripping the bed as I like to come home to a fairly clean bed (go away Sunday) and will wash towels on Sunday morning. I have various things to wash over next couple of days and a wee bit of ironing.
Got to go knicker shopping tomorrow. Looked at mine and decided I couldn't peg out on the balcony in Spain. Off to M&S tomorrow.
A quick poll with you lot - what do you regard a working number - black and white knickers? I tend to wear black more. Because it is just DH and me only tend to do a white, coloured, towels, wash once a week with delicates once a week too.
Love to all

Edited to say re the knickers - well I am not mentioning what else is is my drawer - remember I am going on holiday with SIL, DD and DGSs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thoughts tend to drift to Martyn and his underwear buying!!!!!!!!!!! The thongs (actually never worn them) must stay here. Granny knickers more the norm.0
