OS Daily for Friday 2nd May 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 2nd May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning everyone. Thought I’d be first today!
SMOKY – have just caught up with yesterday’s thread. Thanks so much for posting; I agree with what others have said – think about going back to work when you are truly ready to. The photo idea for the children is a really good one. Also, re-organising things around the house as you are doing will be very therapeutic. Please give the LOs big (((hugs))) from me. I’m so glad you are getting such good family support – that will make such a difference and please make sure you get plenty of rest.
CHURCHMOUSE – :hello: :hello: :hello:
(((Hugs))) to all the poorly or anxious ones.
Well, I was up quite early this morning but I don’t mind because I have some letters to write and I’ve had a nice mooch around on here. The weather ended up being lovely yesterday; DS2 and his bride-to-be came round for dinner and loved the Manchester Tart that I did for pud.
Today I need to go to the bank to get DH’s sub-contractors’ wages out (which reminds me, I haven’t typed the payslips out yet), then I must do my food shopping and then I am having my hair trimmed at 12.45, so the morning is pretty much taken care of. I need to go into the wool shop to look at the ribbons; we need a hot pink one to make a belt for DGD’s bridesmaid’s dress. DS2’s bride-to-be told me yesterday that she is wearing a veil with the same tiara that her Mum and Grandmother wore for their weddings. I didn’t realise she was going to be wearing a veil and the thought of it made me cry so heaven only knows what I’ll be like at the wedding! Will need plenty of tissues, I think! I also need to buy some Love Hearts for when I start making the wedding favours. I must get going on those – I know the wedding is not until August but it will be hear before we know it.
Anyway, off to make another cuppa so see you all later.

Morning Mioliere & all who cross & follow,
Hugs to PP & Mrs Mix.
Smokey, hugs & thanks for posting.
Another early start here & again on Monday, I fell asleep at 7 on the sofa, woke up at 8, went to bed & slept til 4 this morning, this is nothing to do with the early start, more to do with my job, as soon as the weather warms up, my room turns into an oven & my job involves a lot of lifting & rushing around, still only 8 more years & I can retire, lol.
WM is on, fish have been fed, tea prepped & lunches made.
Have a good day
Hugs Hester
P.S. I've just found out that my SIL's band will be played on Radio Berkshire on Sunday, I must remember to listen in & vote.

Morning. The usual dull potentially wet weather day. It's Friday which means it's part of my shift pattern that gives me 4 days off. So No work until Wednesday.
Plenty to do around the house though.
I also will be collecting 20 eggs to hatch out in the incubator this weekend, so I hope that goes well.
Coroners court today to give evidence in a suicide.... should be a bit of a morbid day... A chance to wear my new charity shop suit..
Well best get the animals sorted and iron a shirt.
Obby Oss day passed off without too much problem. It's very local and included lots of drinking. I know the Police spent most fo the day confiscating booze from teenagers who arrived with bag loads. Most of them were the local asbo types who just want to get drunk and ruin the festivities for everyone else. Not this year....

Morning everyone,
DGS still asleep. He's been asleep 2 hours already. He usually only has over an hour. At this rate he'll be still awake at 9pm.
Just having a cuppa now and a bit of a nosy around. We plan to do some watering soon & I may take him for a walk down to the water to throw some rocks in. Leftovers for tea.
Kyle You really need to tell Twink not to swear so much.
It must be rubbing off on Lorenzo.
MrsMix
Well I think I"ll go and make some noise.
Will pop back later. Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> for those poorly or down. Byeeeeeeeeeeee Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning everyone!
Suns out so I've put the swimming towels out to get dry before the rain!
Yesterday I got my sister some cargo trousers and a top in sainsburys - they have 25% off all their clothing till monday! Its her birthday next week, so I was well pleased with my find!
My knees dont seem to bad this morning, so I shall go to the gym again. I have lost alot of weight on my legs, bums etc - all I need now is to get the flabby stomach apron toned up! I see alot of you are doing really well on the Slimming World!:T
DS2 is off for a beaver sleepover on sat nite, and I've got to get all his badges sewn on his uniform now he has been properly invested!
I'm off to the Who Do You Think You Are Live (Family history show) at Olympia this weekend, so looking forward to that!!
Off to catch up on the last few days threads!!
Have a great day all xx0 -
Morning all
Another bright day, but have just seen the weather forecast for the bank holiday weekend. We are going to do a car boot, but Monday looks like a complete washout
Aussie, at this rate we'll all be coming to live with you to get some sunshine
Amie, we've got a hedgehog - we saw him / her on Wednesday night and put some food out, it was gone the next day, but not sure whether hedgepig had it, or the cats. He wasn't around last night, but think he must be living in the garden somewhere.
(((( hugs )))) to Smokey, I haven't read your post yet, but I'm glad you feel up to posting. Edit to say I have just caught up and I am full of admiration for the way you are coping. Just a thought, I would check whether you are entitled to any help towards the cost of the funeral.
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Morning all, early start again as I want to be at B&Q when they open at 8, there is a 1 day going going gone sale and I need more fencing for DD2's garden which is turning into Eden !!
Must check for all ingrediants for hm b/day cake for DD1 tomorrow.
DD2 and SiL to be, are taking me and DH out for dinner tonight as a thank-you for all the work we have done on their garden, No cooking yipee!!!
Just read yesterdays thread and must say Smokie, you are doing the right things, taking one day or one hour at a time. Workwise you may find that the day will come when you wake and just know the time is right to return. Till then you are gradually sorting your home out and being there for the children and that is enough for you to cope with, so don't push yourself to much, you are doing a brilliant job, we are full of admiration. Take care of Smokie too x0 -
Good Morning All
(((hugs))) Smokey, PP, Mrs Mix and anyone else who needs one.
Shez - thank you for thinking of us, it is hard, we are ok at the moment but will have to look to lay off someone if this continues much more.
Its lovely and sunny here today but that doesnt mean anything, has been like this most of the week then is pouring down by 9.
Got loads of seeds yesterday and our soil is being delivered today so tomorrow will be spent planting out. Really looking forward to it.
Have DD at home today as her school have an inset day but think she will probably have a pyjama day.
Chicken curry for dinner tonight.
