    Good morning everyone,

Ive had a quick skim through the thead, but cant remember much, so hugs and :hello: to everyone xx

Quiet day here, with just one LO, and she is happily drawing at the moment.
Im making veg soup at the moment, the veg is roasting in the oven as i type, and just need to add the stock and blend it up and it will be ready. I bought some cooking apples the other day, so im going to chop them up and cook those next, will freeze them then so i have a supply ready for a crumble or a pie later!!!

Thats about it - DS didnt go to sleep again last night, and i had said if he didnt he wouldnt be able to play football tonight (his team have a friendly arranged) so now i need to decide whether to let him play or not. Hes not been naughty, as such, and i do like to encourage the football (thinking ahead to the teenage years, if he has football, he is less likely to be wanting to drink/smoke/drugs as that would affect his playing) but i did say if he didnt go to sleep he couldnt go - so not sure what to do!!!

Anyway, enough drivel from me, hope everyone has a lovely day

    :hello: mrs mix

:hello: everyone, and (((HUGS))) to all that need them. Well, I'm feeling rubbish today; got a really bad headache and dodgy tummy. So I think it'll just be a slow day for me. Good news though - I handed in my dissertation yesterday! :j so I'm pleased about that, and relieved that its now all over. Just two exams to go, and I'll be graduating!
I need to do something with some veg i've got in the fridge - its just starting to go a little soft, so I'll probably bung it into a soup or something, and then freeze it into portions. Housemates are talking about going to Pizza Hut tonight but I think I'm going to give it a miss - I don't like their pizzas as much as the ones you can make at home anyway!
Hope everyone has a good day,
    sf :heartpuls

Trust me, until I have lost at least another stone, you do not want to see me in a thong (and probably not even then) Oh, just had a thought, are thongs the same thing in Aussie :D

Hello to everyone and hugs to those who need them. I've been quiet but I've been watching.

At work today, but I'm sneaking in a bit of admin time for me. I've been constantly worried that despite my budget looking ok on paper, I've still been running out - by up to £200 in some cases - right before payday with bills still to pay. Last night, after weeks and weeks of fretting, I worked out why. Instead of going from payday to payday (i.e. 25th of the month to the 24th), my budget has been on a month by month basis, so while it looks like I have enough money to cover everything, some of it comes out the wrong side of payday. So I need to think more on that and try to decide where to get the missing £88 I'll need this month.

Another budget thing that was bothering me was that I've been trying to shop for £5 per day, but that wasn't working either ... because I was jotting it down as £25 instead of £35 per week. Tsk. So I'm trying again, but my new grocery challenge is £30 per week.

Next challenge, how much food can I make at home? I can bake bread, biscuits and cakes, and makes stews, pies and casseroles. What else can I make at home cheaply? Can I get within my £30 per week budget? (There's only me plus 2 cats.) Should I try the Tesco Savers line for a while? Or can I do it on Tesco OB?

I'm also trying to lose weight and eat healthily as I have high cholesterol.

I'm toying with a car boot sale, but I've never even shopped at one, let alone sold at one. I have so much clutter.

Lots to think about this BH weekend. I hope everyone has a good one.

    Afternoon everyone,
i`ve not posted for a few days cos i`ve been feeling so carp i didn`t want to whings and bring the thread down. Today i`m tons better and i`m fine unless i start talking and then i can`t stop coughing, hopefully i`ll be cured tomorrow as my chest is much clearer and i need to get back to w**k.
I took the houndlets out earlier and the little oldie was very tired as it`s too warm for him now already  heaven knows how bad he`ll be when it really does warm up later in the year. He found a huge muddy puddle about 6 inches deep and laid down in it and was wallowing around like a hippo:eek:
He smelt vile and was a completely different colour when he`d finished and he lay in the middle of it to cool down for almost 15 minutes. I had to hose him down when we got home and towel him off and now he`s fast asleep snoring like a little old man

I`ve just been sorting some recycling and need to walk across the park to the bottle bank, i`ve just found that we have almost 50 empty wine bottles and lots of other empty erm alcoholic beverage bottles so recycle, maybe i`ll go later when it`s dark :o
I`ll catch up with yesterdays thread later, i gather that smoky has posted too, ((((HUGS)))) for you and the little ones Smoky.
    Have a fantastic Friday everyone.

    Afternoon folks,
I got to B&Q and bought 5, 6' x 6' fencing panels for £12 each, such a bargain and 6 x 6 ltrs of white emulsion for £6 a can another bargain. Will pick them the fencing up at 3pm. :j
Did a morrisons and bought a load of yellow stickered fish, duck breasts, steak, and pork. So made a huge fish pie enough for 6 portions for just over £3. Cooked the duck in Hoi-sin sauce and I also baked a huge chocolate cake for DD1's birthday tomorrow, for a change I melted 4 mars bars and sandwiched the cake with them, covered the cake with choc icing and stuck maltesers on top and choc buttons all around the sides, just as well she is a chocoholic !! Don't know how I'm going to get it to Bath in one piece.
We're dining out tonight, a little thank you from DD2 and SiL for turning her wilderness into the garden of Eden. All in all a very good day for me and it's not over yet. Hope you all have a restfull Bank Holiday week-end
