Whilst in Asda today I noticed that both the mayonaisse and ketchup in their value range was no longer available.

So not only do we have price hikes but also the lower tier food range seems to be disappearing.

:wave:Blimey. Late on parade as usual!

    650+ posts already???

We went a bit over last month but I'm not too heartbroken as it could have been tons worse. My work pattern changed for a few weeks and so the menus changed to fit. (everything had to be *much* quicker.)

I found a really helpful book which marries up quite a lot of OS with lots of shortcuts which I find invaluable when I've got less than 45 minutes to cook, eat, help with homework, advise on boy / girl trouble, feed the cat and glam up for my second job before flying out the door again.

Can I aim for £250 this month as well though. I'll get there one day! (When one of the kids leaves home maybe! :D )

    Big Love to all!

    Love Jacks xxx :D

PS Forgot to say: The book is called

"How to Feed Your Whole Family a Healthy Balanced Diet, with Very Little Money and Hardly Any Time, Even If You Have a Tiny Kitchen, Only Three Saucepans (one with ill fitting lid) And No Fancy Gadgets- Unless You Count the Garlic Crusher..."

I think that's what it's called anyway! By Gill Holcombe.
Jacks, I've borrowed this from the library and like it so much I'm going to buy a copy to keep and refer back to.

I haven't breastfed yet, but that's because my baby is 8 days overdue!

Not sure if it's too late, but you could try raspberry leaf tea. It tastes disgusting, but is supposed to help speed up labour. I drank it with both of mine. My first labour was 6 hours and my second only 1. In fact, the midwives at my hospital told me I wasn't in labour and sent me home. Luckily, I felt the need to push before we got out of the labour ward or Hubby would have had to deliver in the car park
Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j

I have just been online to our local library catalogue and they have a copy at another branch so I have reserved it! Thanks for the tip.

    Hello All,

    Not posted for a while.
Took OH shopping with me the other day and spent approx £35, I have updated my signature.

Managed to get some offers and some whoopsies. Our freezer is packed.

Socked up on lentils, oats and soya mince( not tried this yet but a few other posters have)

Made shepherd pie the other day which went down well with OH.

Got just over 2 weeks to go until our challenge finishes.

Have you tried castor oil? I tried it when my second one was late - mix it half and half with orange juice and it will taste less horrid. But don't use as much as I did - about 50ml of each - was way too much! (I won't elaborate but you know what castor oil is usually used for!!!)

    Moniker

Please don't try Castor oil for labour induction. Ask the hospital if you want to be induced.

CASTOR OIL..A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS OLD WIVES TALE

Mrs Irwin I tried everything (that I thought was safe) to try to get things started, Hot curries, bumpy car drives, long walks, etc and none of it worked. Some babies just take longer than others - I went into labour naturally 21 days after my DS's due date and had a healthy and happy 9lb 6oz baby who took to breastfeeding really well and was very content and relaxed. Enjoy the rest you have now. It'll happen when the time is right. Good Luck xx

I had a quick stop off at Mrs S on the way home - got mince, baps and frozen chips  @ £3.47. In my defence I won't have a kitchen from next week so I know the frozen chips will come in handy and mabe stop the temptation to get a take away/eat out.
