    Hi guys

Well I did my weekly shop last night with £40 shopping money in my purse but hoping to spend £35 it came in at £36.51 which is not too bad, and in my defence I had washing powder and dishwasher tablets totalling £9 to pay out of that which I only buy once a month or so, so yay me! I have £3.49 left which is now sitting in a tin being built up for frivolous spending in about 6 weeks or so. :T

    Congratulations searching-me x

    Hello everyone:hello:

Yesterday was a NSD - didn't have time to go to shops even if I'd wanted to!

Friday night is bottle of wine night so just spent £5.76 in Asda on wine, salad and eggs - not too bad. Might be doing some freezer cooking at the weekend which could bump my running total up a bit - haven't decided yet.:p

    Off to update my sig!

    Congratulations Searching-me.

I've had a bit of success tonight yum yum just successfully made some tortilla wraps - thanks Mrs Mac I think it was your recipe and your suggestions which has lead to yummy ones tonight. (first time were ok but not quite right). They taste much better than bought ones and these were free as already had ingredients in. Sorry am not techie enough to link to the recipe but am sure someone else will if anyone missed it.

Have spent £52 on shopping this week and £40 on meat - don't need any more for the month - freezer is full Yey!

Sorry to hear your sad news Taplady X

    Evening all :j

Congratulations to searching_me - you must be thrilled. I think you deserve an ice lolly - with today's weather in Sheffield, I could have eaten one myself, although I'm now sat shivering and about to put heating on! Which big hill are you on?

((((HUGS)))) to Taplady. Losing a pet is so distressing but if you're like me you can't see them suffer. At least he had 6 good years of love from you.

Well not much to report really. Spent a bit more today than I expected, which included a mocha and danish at work. I've been so good with SW this week and then blew both the diet and the GC in one fell swoop :o I am debating going for my 3rd sin of the day and eating some chocolate that is shouting me from the fridge :p

Have to do an on line shop this weekend but must check freezer and cupboards out first as shouldn't need much main food stuff, more the filler and accompanying bits.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend everyone :T

Thanks Clair for the bean burger recipe - thats the one.
Taplady - have just read about pup, really sorry, quite emotional as my big soft darling handsome border collie died last sept, he just went to sleep at the bottom of the garden behind the playhouse. We were away for the weekend!!!! and poor nephew was minding them. Never forgive myself, but he had always been so well.
Anyway on a lighter note as in my bank balance is now lighter because my NSD has turned into £250 spend on the Boden sale - I'm so ashamed of myself - NOT. I've decided that I'm fed up slopping around in joggers and old tops when everyone else is clean and smart looking - SO THERE. There is going to be a new me from now on.
Sorry about that - nothing to do with groceries, just my little rant.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOH just remembered phone call earlier to tell me new car is coming on Mon:T leased car thru work in case you all think I've lost the plot completely.

edited to say - congrats searching_me

Right - must stop lurking around here and get on with some stuff  . This is my 4th challenge and I'm slowly getting the hang of not buying everything in the shop! I find it really useful to stocktake the freezer and cupboards and then do a rough menu plan for the month (it's not set in stone and can be tempted to the pub of a lunchtime for my dinner :rotfl: ). I also prefer to keep freezer / cupboards ticking over (can't resist a good bogof or whoopsie:rotfl: )

I'm also mastering the cat - she likes Mr t's food at the mo - well only 1 flavour:rolleyes: . I've packets of other food that I can't remember if she likes or not - so I've got a little book and writing down the brand and flavour and yes/no and sort of, so I can start to only get the food she likes (until she goes off that  ) and stop feeding the neighbourhood cats with everything I throw out on the garden (I'm putting some up by my strawberries as I found the other night I have a visiting hedgehog and I'm hoping he'll eat all the slugs that had most of my strawberries last year:D )

Anyway, must go and do the washing up and get meat out to make chilli tomorrow in the SC and look for some ideas for activities for brownies on tues....mmmm

Evening all...congratuations searching me. Mind you reading it I almost had heart failure as though I had posted because your name is very sim to mine & I'm 100% certain that I am definately NOT pregnant - pmsl!! Fab news for you! I work in adoption & am well aware of the heartache that can be involved so really chuffed for you!
Hugs taplady...the wee animals are our babies arent they eh...big hugs for you! As others have said at least there was a loving life with you & now at peace...no doubt frolicking in heaven with all our other animals. I had to have my cat Macey put down in Dec and still miss her but do have 3 (2 of her daughters too!) to keep me company but they are so individual arent they?
I also have a reptile in the form of a turte called Micha! If I can suss its I'll post a piccie for you! Never was very good at the piccy posting though!
Lunch out for a leaving do today but dont count that from GB as I eat out so rarely t comes under the treat category! The naughty wine comes out of GB though so wll update siggy!
Does anyone have a nice recipe for a healthy caky style loaf - pref that can be frozen (I tried banana muffins but they were quite soggy defrosted!)...I love oats and have nts, raisins etc in but dont want to go overboard on cals but alas dont like pineapple that much (plus dont have any in!!)...much appreciated! I do love the recipes on here generally & my tried & tested box is coming on nicely! Weezles chicken liver pate just added & will def get the frozen next time (didnt have any yesterday!) as even with money off thats much cheaper than the fresh! I do worry about frozen for freezing again though...is it safe to refreeze?
