Hi victory - I think that what happened to you in Sainsury's was awful and you should definitely complain - hope you get some MOC's as a result.

    Congrats to searching_me :j

    Taplady - (((HUGS))))

Have updated my sig with spends today, have menu planned until the end of the month so will only need to buy Milk, F&V. Both freezers are full to bursting and cupboards are overflowing so feel confident about beating target. Thanks to whoever mention the BOGOF on Seriously Strong Cheese in Sainsbury's - picked up 4 packs today.

BigMummaF - was interested to read what you were saying about HM Packed Lunches/HM food, I too make everything from scratch and my two Daughters are constantly telling me that their friends keep saying "I wish my Mum would make those for me", in fact DD2 has been sharing the contents of her Packed Lunch with her Best Friend and I have recently been putting a bit extra in for her!! Some of my friends admire what I do but some think I'm mad and don't see the point in making something when you can buy it ready made.:confused: Try to calmly explain that when you buy ready made it's full of additives, preservatives, extra fat, extra salt etc etc. For me though it's not just about eating healthily, I love cooking and I actually find it very relaxing and the best bit is when you serve something up and everyone raves about how nice it is and then you can wallow in the glory;) ;) Shall pop off now and polish my Halo.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good Bank Holiday weekend.:D

Taplady - have just read about pup, really sorry, quite emotional as my big soft darling handsome border collie died last sept, he just went to sleep at the bottom of the garden behind the playhouse. We were away for the weekend!!!! and poor nephew was minding them. Never forgive myself, but he had always been so well.

Thanks weemissy, thats what happened to our last dog who died in his sleep when he was 14 while my hubby was away - so much less distressing.

thanks to everyone else for their kind thoughts too.

cupboards are full now that I've been shopping, and am going to start making my own bread again after quite a while of buying it but at £1.20 for our usual loaf we just have to make savings.

have a good weekend all x

CONGRATULATIONS SEARCHING ME ( just noticed your location, I live in sheffield as well, think there are a few of us on the GC thread now)

Went shopping AGAIN today for my mum and ended up getting a few bits and pieces for us.
I bought a few items that were half price.

Total spend £ 22.07 signature updated.

will be popping to mr m tomorrow just for t bags while they are still on BOGOF.
Going to be in the area anyway.

Started making a shepherds pie tonight for tomorrow and i've bulked it out that much that there is going to be loads of it.
Not sure what else to do with it as their is no room in the freezer.

    Hi
Can I join for the first time this month. We won't be doing our first shop of the month until Monday but will hopefully still work out. We always aim for £200 a month so I would really like to see how close we actually get to this.

    Thanks
    Alison

Can I join in please? I've had a monthly household budget for over a year, so it'll be lovely to share with other people! My budget this month is £180 for 2 adults, plus 2 children at the weekend (2 x lunch, 1 x tea, 1 x breakfast, plus snacks etc). I'd upped my budget to £200 at the end of last year due to price rises but browsing here for the past month makes me think I can do better, plus I still have a fair bit of meat and fish in the freezer, so £180 for this month and I'll take it from there.

My month actually started last friday, but I'll add up what I've spent when I've done tomorrow's shop.

    Gena x
