I am not sure that I should be declaring exactly yet. My wages are not due until 30th and I am about to do a Mr T order, but I doubt it will be delivered for a day or two. I had overlapped my previous order that came in at the end of April into my May Challenge, so I think I will probably add up my bits and pieces and then declare now. The tesco delivery wont be eaten until the next month anyway. (Except the babymilk my daughter needs for her baby now). She did buy her own small tin at the local shop, but she paid for that so it wont be coming out of my budget. (She also decided that she wanted to make a tuna and sweetcorn pasta for her lunch, so she bought the Tuna and sweetcorn herself. ) So I am not counting that either. Let me go do some figures....
    My final figure was £201.83.
I will not be so nieve as to think that my shopping will be that low all the time though, especially as I have a delivery coming in the next 24 hours. But although my cupboards are not bursting at the seems they are reasonably healthy. Now I will go and see what target would be realistic but not too easy for June. See you on the June thread probably.

Mrs McCawber, please can you put us down for £160 for June

Not quite finished May yet, DS1 and his GF coming this weekend :D, so going to do a Lidl shop tomorrow. Obviously a lot of that will be for June, but need milk, fruit and veg for Fri/Sat ans some treats for DS.

I would like to declare for May at £226.96 please, out of £225 budget. I'm not unhappy with that, considering all the price rises.

Next month will see me complete a full year on the grocery challenge and, whilst I haven't added it up, I'm convinced I've saved loads AND I have definately cut down enormously on the amount of stuff I waste, so:-

:smileyhea :smileyhea :iloveyou: THANKS a million everyone for all your support, good ideas, recipes etc. :kisses: :heart2: :heart2: :heartpuls

We are away for the first week in June but it's self catering so I will still be including that week in our June GC. Will post my June budget over on the June thread.

    See you over there!

I'm on my 3rd NSD and long may it continue, they make such a difference:D Hopefully will only need petrol tomorrow, but that is out of a different budget. Saturday will need to feed myself after the funeral before i go to work, but again thats not out of my grocery budget. Then sunday is my shiny new budget!

  • I'd only spent 75% of my budget with just two days to go this month, and then I went into Julian Graves at lunch-time, saw they had a half-price sale on everything and spent £14, so am up to 90% of budget now. Still not too bad, I guess, and it means I've stocked up well on fruit and nuts.

MRS M CAN YOU PLEASE PUT MY MAY TOTAL DOWN AS £210
  • Having had a 5 NSD's I had to get some milk today, so another £1.74 to add to my total. I'd like to declare May at £178.84.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread. I love reading it and getting recipe ideas, hints and tips on the smallest things that can sometimes make a really big difference. See you over on the June thread :)

    Hi everyone,
I know I've not been on here as much this month, but been temping a bit more so less time to spend on the site!
I am declaring £221.72 for May MrsM!
I won't be taking part in June's challenge as we are going on holiday and I am determined to just eat out of the freezer. I want to defrost it before we go!!
I will be back for the August challenge though, so good luck to everyone on the June GC.

    MrsB. :)
