Ooh turbo, could you post the banana muffin recipe please as I have some overripe ones to use up! (and the lemon drizzle too if you wouldn't mind, it's my fave!:o)
I don't know who put theses on here originaly but thank you they are both very nice
Banana Muffins
225g self raising flour
100g butter
85g castor sugar
2 medium eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp baking powder
01 tsp ground cinnamon
170ml milk
a pinch of salt
grated zest of 1 lemon
2 bananas
Heat oven to 200°C or Gas Mark 6. Grease 12 muffin tins with butter or place 12 muffin cake cases in a tin.
Melt the butter and leave to cool.
Sieve the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt into a large bowl. Stir in the sugar and lemon zest.
Mash the banana with a fork and add to the flour. Lightly beat the melted butter and milk together and add to the flour.
Add the eggs and stir until just mixed, do not over beat.
Divide the mixture between the tins or cases.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 25 minutes, leave in the tins for 5 minutes then place on a wire rack to cool.
Lemon Drizzle Cake
50g butter
250g caster sugar
grated zest of one lemon
250g SR Flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
100ml skimmed milk
2 tablespoons low-fat plain yoghurt
juice of 2 lemons
whisk together the butter and 200g of the sugar until fluffy, add lemon zest, flour, baking powder, egg, milk and yoghurt and mix until smooth. Sppon into greased 2lb loaf tin or cake tin and bake at 180/gas4 for around 50-60 mins. Leave to cool for 10 mins.
place lemon juice and remainder of sugar in pan with 150ml water and bring to boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Boil for a few mins until syrupy. Pierce the cake all over with cocktail stick or skewer and then spon over the syrup.GC July £250/0 -

I have 2 cats on Hills k/d diet both got renal failure but they are as happy as larry so while they keep going I will have to fork out £30 for a 5kg bag  which lasts 2 months. I used to buy Iams and that cost £35 for a 15kg bag so big hike. But wouldn't be without cats they are sisters and 16 this month!!!

I spent a bit in Sainsbury's today - I would have gone to Asda but Mr L wanted me to get the 5p petrol voucher! Not sure if we really would have saved much in the long run but never mind.Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0 -

Tylersbabe, sorry to be a dimwit, but if I'm make the muffins, it's the same mixture, just put into muffin cases other than loaf tin???
And what flower did you use - it says ordinary...plain, SR...I'm new to all this cooking lark, despite mother being a great cook and having a GCSE in Home Ec (it's hard living in the shadow of a great cook!)
Hi
just to be difficult I actually used gluten free fibre mix!!
but I remember that MRSM said that she just used ordinary flour so as you add baking powder think tht plain was used.
and.... yep same mixture in muffin cases you cook them for 15min at 180 or if using fan oven 160. Sorry have no idea what gas mark this is
Hope this helps if not am sure MRSM will be along to help soon.

Hi,
I hope I am not too late, but I would like to join the May grocery challenge. I am on a very tight budget at the moment and need to keep costs down. This challenge will keep me focused.
I would like to put my name down for £240 (to include nappies & toiletries) for 2 adults & 1 child.
Thanks, Apardion0 -
