Well I manage to read this thread about 2 or 3 times a day, but by the time I have read the new posts I don't have time to post, (slow typist, or rather no typist).

Went to Aldi last Saturday as we hadn't been for ages, so thought we would catch up. It is in the process of being refurbished and was very busy, so it was a nightmare to get round, people blocking the aisles etc.

It should have been cheap as the teenagers wouldn't go in case they are seen, (can't get them to understand that if anyone they know is there, then they are in the same boat!). However DH was with me. i would have spent about 12 pounds, but with his help it came to 50.14! He picked up things that we didn't need because we already had enough, or I didn't want, including two bottles of wine that fell into the former category.

    Lesson learned!

So we didn't need anything else.........until Monday when we needed a printer cartridge, got two spares of every other colour, but not the darker blue one. So as PC world was near Asda, I was asked to get fruit juice, and they all decided to come so they could choose what they wanted!

    Lesson two!

Spent 62.72  , and PC world didn't even have the cartridge in stock.
Anyway did get some bargains, seeded loaf at 30p, 6 granary rolls for 20p (but were only 5p at the door as we were leaving  ) cheap jellies and strawberry whip (haven't had these for ages). Got some cereals that Aldi don't have or they don't like from there, Fruit and fibre pound a box, Kellogs crunchy nut 2 for 3 pounds.

Stocked up on baking ingredients too, so got myself plenty to do.

Made trifle from waffles past their BBD, and even made the custard as the egg yolks were over from orange sorbet.

The sorbet didn't do well, (too icy) so I made up some gelatine and mixed it all together with the last of a big tub of vanilla yoghurt. It ended up like a tangy milk jelly and was very nice.

No spends for the rest of the week, took lunch to work every day, so may have a chance of getting back on the level now.

    Total now 123.42

Thanks to all those who post recipes, we are definitely getting more variety in our food.:A

I hate supermarkets and their cunning tactics!!!!
I went to Mr S yesterday to get a few household things, was very good and only bought what was on my list. Still cost me £18 though, i had my LO with me and didnt check my receipt til i got to the car as she wanted to have it. Anyway, Mr S in his cunningness had bounty 'printed' rolls on 2 for £1.99, i spent a couple of minutes comparing prices and this offer was cheaper than own brand stuff so i went for it, however what i picked up must not have been on offer even though it was in the middle of all the 'printed' rolls:confused: It really makes me mad:mad: I have now spent nearly £6 on bl00dy kitchen roll:mad: Should i take it back? Will they let me take it back, cos i dont want to pay £6 for 4 kitchen rolls!!!!

    Rant over:D
