I have a bumble bee nest in my eaves. I have let it be as they are a threatened species and not aggressive and will depart at the end of the summer. They buzz in and out but keep to themselves. The local beekeepers association said if it was honey bees they would have come and collected it as they having a waiting list.

Wasps are another matter - they shouldbe exterminated if you have them on the premises. See suggestions in previous postings.

Im sure I heard about a fake wasp nest (Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2) which you hang up in your garden and after a couple days, wasps will keep away from it as they would any other wasps nest that has established in an area

    Just be careful.

Avoid rather than attack. It will soon be end of season anyway
